| BMW, or I believe it was BMW used to put a leather/rubber boot in the "tunnel" area where the noise eminates from. Served two purposes....kept the rain and wind from coming through and it kept road and other noise to a minimum.
It had openings for the forks which allowed full movement, but did a great job of doing what was intended. I believe it was on their first K touring bikes, but might be wrong on the model.
If you have a really good leather shop I'd take the bike to them and see what they can do about making such a boot. If it works, put me down to buy one.
After all, if it's good enough for BMW it's good enough for the Vic | |
