Posts: 880 Orlando, FL | A friend of mine just got a Victory Radio for her 2011 Vision 8 Ball. She just told me she was informed that her ECU needs to be flashed before she can tune the radio. Has ANYONE ever heard of that? Seems very odd to me! |

| sounds odd. Plug in radio if it doesn't work go from there. Looking in parts finch they don't have a separate ECU for 8 ball.
don't forget to put fuse in left hand fuse block
who told her it need relash? dealer |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | is the ecu the same part number and a vision that has a radio?
if i was to add a radio to a vision that never had it. it wouldnt be the stock radio.. there have been others that have installed aftermarket marine radios on these bikes... if my radio fails im going to do the same thing...

| yes all vision from 08 to 11 use same ECM and 2012 to 2016 all use same ECM
I'm think Polaris/victory calls up someone and says I'll take 2 thousand of them. Now why would you have a special one for a bike that doesn't have a radio when the radio would make no difference to how the bike runs |

I say this because when I added the factory CB to my 2008 Vision, it wouldn't work properly until I had the dealer flash the ECU to put matching software versions in the stereo and CB unit before the bike would recognize the CB.
I also had to take a 2002 Lincoln back to the dealer, when I bought an optional CD player for it, to have the ECU reflashed. The ECU had to be told which software version the CD player had in it before it would recognize it. Seems crazy, but that's the way it was.
