Posts: 43 CASHTON, WI United States | I'm not sure who the powers to be are, but I'd buy a flag kit with a "Vision Riders" flag and an American Flag to mount on my Vision. Is there any thought of this? I think that that most of the members here would also purchase this. The Victory flag kit is around $90.00. I'm sure that it could be done for quite a bit less. Just a suggestion... |

| There is a bike flag mount at the American Legion site maybe like this or this modified?

Just a suggestion. I found this is the lowest prices on American flags of top quality so far. Unless you want a flag that has flown over Pearl Harbor on it's anniversary. That is a very nice flag and comes with a certificate from the U.S. Navy.

Thanks guys! |

Posts: 849 , FL United States | I can say from experience that the flag mounts Victory sells to clamp on the luggage rack are POS. They are Kury..(sp?) pieces that won't hold up in any wind more than 30 mph. I had a set w/ an American flag & a POW flag. They BOTH broke under my abusive use of the throttle. They just won't hold up to running 80+ mph down the Interstate! Dealer was going to replace them under warranty but I decided to just use the $ on other accessories, knowing that they would just break again.
Next, on to the flag mounts from The American Legion. It's a very nice kit which includes brackets BUT the flag stands are made of plastic & won't hold up to 80+ mph runs on the Interstate (lost my POW flag somewhere in the Sacramento,Ca area when riding with FishWitch & Waltdog1).
The only flag stands that I have seen personally that would hold up to speed was the set that VisionBob made himself for his Vision. He fabricated them from some metal stock & they looked VERY sturdy. Maybe one of our illustrious members such as Metalguy could contact him & see about fab'ing some for us?
My American & POW flags are still waiting to be re-installed on some sturdier mounts.

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | Just a thought, dont you guys think that the bike on its own is a symbol of artistry, technology, style, out of the box thinking, then
add your vision riders clothing while riding......... isnt a flag like overkill? Just my opinion (which is worthless to all others except myself) but i only see flags on HD's. Do we really need to go down that road? I think our bikes are a lot more upscale.
ok now lets see how much i get beat up after this comment. go for it I can take it........ just not the face.... |

| Here is my idea. A small flag mount with double back tape. This is so it can be mounted to the dash and the flag would be behind the windshield. Have the mount designed like the CB antenna mount. If the mounts are made without the flag you could have an American Flag on one side and a POW flag on the other.
I have not bought a M/C flag holder from the Legion so I can not say yeah or nay. I have bought full size flags that I display on the front porch and they are American made and last about 3 times longer and much lower cost than say from Wal-Mart or Home Depot ones. Also part of the money you spend there goes to helping Vets. |
