I had to buy a new one for my Vision here is the quickest answer for you. It will only work on the new one thats skinny and comes in all the colors 4th generation. You will also have to buy the piece of crap Victory connector cable which wont charge it eventhough it
states that it will, but there is a company that you can buy the connector that goes between the cable and your new Ipod so that it will charge it. You also need the connector in order for your Ipod to work through the buttons on your stereo system. The fastest way to tell if your existing Ipod will work is to plug it into the bike if it doesnt power on,,,, enjoy the ride to Best Buy for your new Ipod.
At least you can get one in a color that matches your bike huh. LOL

Oh on a cool technical note. Your new Ipod once hooked up correctly, will display the Victory Vision Logo on it while its hooked up to the bike. pretty cool.

I bought a 3rd gen 4GB nano "stubby" from pawn shop for $60 four months ago. I bet that they are cheaper now that the 4th gen has come out. You might get an 8GB 3rd gen for that now.

I went to many pawn shops before I bought one. They all had iPod nano's. If it did not play I just walked away. The ones that did play I checked all of the controls and made sure the computer connector was clean and shiny. Make sure they deduct money for wear and tear!

Ride safe and enjoy the ride!

P.S. I rode 200 miles on Tuesday through sun, rain and clouds listening to my pawn shop iPod.

FYI, bring your own ear phones to test the iPod's!!!

I want to correct an misstatement by VaParadox -- All of the iPod nanos EXCEPT for the 4th generation will both play and charge with the Victory Vision iPod cable. ONLY the 4th gen nano will play but not charge. My recommendation is the stubby 3rd gen - they are inexpensive and work great! I got a nice red one to match my 10th Anniversary Vision.

Hippo and BikerDave48 are right on the money. 3rd Generation nano, available refurbished on the Apple site for $59 and $99. Download the music, set up to 15 playlists and leave it on the bike. it goes to sleep when you turn off the bike.

Here's the link to purchase the connector so your 4th Gen Nano will charge...$200.00 for the Nano, $40.00 for the POS Victory cable, and $40.00 for the connector to enable the 4th Nano to charge...Priceless...

I am going to warn you guys, you have to secure your iPods in the storage compartment. I am on my 4th cable in 5 months. The connector WILL breakdown from the movement of the iPod in the cubby. I bought a cheap hard cover at Best Buy and velcro'd it to the sidewall of the storage compartment (i will post a pic when I get home tonight if you want). While it is my understanding the Ipod Touch will work, I am not sure I want to have that thing moving around in there like that, let alone figuring out how to secure it. On the gen3 iPod, 8 GB of music is a lot. I think I have like 1200 songs on it and have NEVER listened to them all. If you want to, you can switch it up whenever.

I have a 3rd gen and it won't charge (although it used to). My dealer ordered a new cable and new radio, both of which I have been waiting for for about 6 weeks now (and still no word as to when they might arrive)! That is supposed to fix the problem. For what its worth, my 3rd gen worked perfectly for the first 3 months (it remained on the bike 24/7), then suddenly decided it would only work when charged off the bike. Stay tuned......

I have the 2nd Gen iTouch and it works fine. As others have said you need the adapter for it to charge. Mine is a 16Gig and holds about 3200 songs. I have the adapter for the iTouch and it allows it to charge but with the cable plus the adapter and the iTouch there is very little room in the pocket and I have found that the adater wiggles around and stops the play. I am still trying to figure out a way to secure it and still be able to remove it easily as I also use it in the shop when I can.

Thanks ScoreBo for the photo.  I've just had mine laying in the pocket and not been happy with that...but not exactly sure of how to rectify the mess...until I saw your photo.

Thanks!
