I have posted before regarding CB problems and would now like to update and get some responses. I have been through all the usual electronic problems, Ipod not working properly, CB cutting out after 5 seconds, volume through one headset speaker only, etc. After 10 months I am down to just CB problems that Victory does not seem to have a fix for. I have in writing from Victory that the electronic flash that was available this summer would correct the problem of CB transmissions not coming through the external speakers. The stereo, Ipod and XM, all give you the option of headset, external speakers or both. This flash did not correct the CB problem. Since I have to listen to the CB transmissions through the headset here are the other problems. I need to keep the CB volume at 30 and at highway speeds it is barely loud enough to understand. The stereo, Ipod and XM volume only needs to be at 8 or will blow my ear drums out. Also, I still prefer to listen to the music through the external speakers and when I do get a CB transmission it does not mute the music on the external speakers, only the headset speakers. This is all very frustrating and anyone who has had a HD or Goldwing will tell you that you have your choice of music, CB, etc. through the external speakers or headset or both, your choice, and a CB transmission will mute the music. Also, when talking on the CB, everyone tells me I am the hardest to understand and that everyone else's transmissions are much clearer. I have no clue what Victory was thinking with this very inferior system. I love my Vision, best bike I have ever owned, but this is really upsetting that this simple fix cannot be corrected. I have read all the posts on this subject and have even posted a similar post to this many months ago. So, any other comments.

The last reflash was for the engine only.

I have had no problems with the CB radio. I only have the volume set a little less then half and it's loud enough for me there.

People tell me it sounds great for being on a bike.
As for as the outside speakers.
It's not an issue to me since I wear my helmet at all times, and have no need for it being on the bike speakers.

If they would make an On Off button that would be great since we all have different tastes and wants.

Personally, I think somebody has a couple of you plugs turned around. Heard of happening in the past.

I haven't heard anything about them trying to get the CB to push through the external speakers, but as far as the low volume, check out this thread

Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay!
I have the same issues with my CB. My big complaint is the not getting it through the external speakers. I like to just listen to the CB mostly, on groups rides, and rarely use the Talk feature. I hate to have to wear a headset just to hear the CB. I was told by my dealer, basically, "it is what it is"..... I am hoping that Victory comes out with a better replacement down the line sometime.

No disrespect; but some posts just don't stay on point or are read from an egocentric point of view.
Yeah, you can apply that to this post as well, but I couldn't resist. My flame suit is on and zipped up.

Mine works great and so should yours. I'm wondering, since you state that your reception and your transmissions are both hard to hear, if you could have an antenna problem? Is it possible that the ground strap from the antenna base to the bike frame didn't get connected? Could you have a bad connecting cable, or just a bad connection? Your CB should work every bit as good as a Goldwing's, with the exception of the CB not playing through the external speakers. Somebody screwed up on the design of that, for sure, but other than that my CB works as good as my buddies Goldwings do. Yours should too. Good luck.

I am so sorry I haven't had any problems with mine.

I can't help it I can hear it at half valume.

And I noticed you disregarded the part where I think it needs an On OFF switch for those who would like to hear it on their bike speakers.
or
The part where other posters have had the problem.

Oh why the f am I wasting time trying to explain something to someone who wants to be pee'd off about something.

BTW way.
Some posters had problems with the way the dealer installed the plugs.
plus
The last reflash was for the engine.
Deal with it dip!

You bring up a good point!

After mine was installed I had to remove the seat one day to something (I forget now), and saw my antenna wire being pinched.
Had I rode it for awhile, sooner or later the antenna wire would have worn through.

oh yeah
Then I could have made someone happy because I had another problem to deal with!

Indiana,

I know i shold not say a word and just set back and smile.  But he did say "last electronic reflash" in his initial post.  There is a flash for the ECM (Engine Control Module) and a seperate flash for the radio system.  The last flash i am aware of was roughly around the last week of April.  This particular flash took care of some issues with the iPod and various other annoyances with the radio system.  What some may not be aware of is the version of hardware and version of software for the CB/intercom itself.

Now that i may have opened a can of worms, i guess i can run away and let someone else deal with .  lol

So that's what has so upset the other fellow.
Ok so we are now spitting hairs.

Yes you are right.

I did not see "last electronic reflash" in his initial post because the post has no breaks in it and those kinds of no breaks posts look like computer code to my eyes. Therefore, I only see about half the words.
Ok now that is fixed.

Did I or didn't I say something about having an On Off switch for those who would like to have their CB on their bike speakers?

Also, did I say only that one poster is having a problem with his CB radio?

Not at you, just trying to figure out why my post so pee'd off the guy from the Bill Clinton State. I really thought I was trying to be helpful.
Maybe I didn't get the memo and didn't know a proper Vision Rider is an Angry about bugs Vision Rider.

I know I am supposed to just set here and read your response and smile and laugh to myself. But i just cant, roflmao. One of the things that keeps me on this forum and coming back. Nothing like a little humour and well placed tounge in cheek comments to keep things moving along and to help set things right again.

Well if you had just sat there and smiled I wouldn't have known what that jama guy was ranting about (well one of his rants).

Therefore, keep up the good work because you have better eyes then I do.

Indiana, I'll have to admit I was being picky, and I feel bad that I pi$$ed you of a bit.
I'll take the hit for it; I've no doubt you were being helpful. I've sidetracked the topic
by blowing steam and will extend an apology.

I was almost sorry I started this post. Glad everyone has made up with each other. GREAT WEBSITE!!!!!

Here is the information from Polaris that I got a copy of in May 2008, I beleive the notice was sent out a month or two prior to May but not sure.
NOTE NUMBER 3!!!.

It is planned to have a reflash available for Vision this month. The reflash will address the following issues:

(1) Gen IV Ipod control
(2) Ipod song title display when using skip 10 feature
(3) CB/ICOM transmitting through external speakers
(4) CB/ICOM remaining in transmit mode when ignition is turned to the off
position
(5) Radio taking a long time to power down after the ignition has been turned
to the off position

NOTE: This will not address lockup if customer is using a Hard-Drive IPod. This will only address iPods with a flash drive (Nano)
