No, but the up side to sooty tips is they look like real mini gun barrels that have just been fired.

A little bit of chrome polish cleans them up real fast.

I have used simple green with decent results. But , if you ride it will dirty up again kind of a catch 22. Does anyone remember when the exhaust had a gray tint to it, and black pipes ment you were running to rich on the mix !

Great point Digby. I don't run Gatlins as I have S1/L2 but my tips are black, quite black too. I have read that Victory runs the leanest of all bikes so why so black? We clean ours with chrome cleaner but it's a pain the a$$. After cleaning them I take a picture so I can remember how nice they look without the soot.

There is a thread on this forum somewhere with a picture of someone who Black Powder Coated the Gatlin tips. They look awsome like that. Or maybe powdercoat them the color of you bike to make those pipes stand out.

I use standard chrome cleaner on mine when they need a touch up. I find that the only time they get black is when I'm doing short rides like to work and back or around town. If I put bigger miles on the Vision with higher speeds the tips seem to remain clean. The chrome cleaner seems to do a decent job unless you get right down close to them and inspect them. As long as they continue to clean up okay it doesn't seem like a high price to pay considereing all the comments they gather.

Ride Safe, Ride Often!!

I use bug and tar remover with the lemon stuff in it. I spray it on and wait a minute before I rub. Works pretty good. Best thing I found so far.

I powdercoated the centers of mine in Satin Black so they don't need cleaning.

I didn't buy a set. I have no problem keeping them clean now. My Honkers have gutted stock tips, basically black holes.

I like the powdercoated insides. How did you do that. Are the inside parts removable? I was told that it was cust out of a solid piece of aluminum.
