Posts: 506 Woodland Hills, CA | I recently reported on my installation of the Lee Bailey's windshield. I have a few miles on it now and can tell you that it is far superior to the stock one both in terms of wind protection and lack of distortion. The only problem I have encountered is when I wash the bike.
Water gets between the windshield and the windshield bracket, and I have not yet figured out a way to dry it. So I am left with water spots on the back side of the windshield in front of the bracket. Probably why the Vic windshield is black at the bottom (the Lee Bailey's is clear throughout).
I still love the windshield and am completely happy with the purchase, but I was wondering how others have dealt with this?

Posts: 506 Woodland Hills, CA | I do have a compressor. Good idea! As far as painting it, I wouldn't want to tackle that.....seems like too much work for a few spots that are not really that noticeable.
Thanks for the ideas. |

Posts: 320 Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay! | I installed one of these last week, too. I ordered one that is 1" shorter than stock. The stock was too tall for me. I don't like looking through one. I have the Blade windshield for summer, as I like wind in my face when it's warm, but needed something taller for winter (I'm 5'5". This is the best windshield. Optically correct, good height for me. I highly recommend the purchase. I haven't tried to wash my bike yet. Enjoying the bike too much since the reflash. Trouble free miles for once *knock wood*. Who needs a clean bike?

| My stock WS cracked so the dealr replaced it with the 2" taller Vic windshield. Much better for me at 6' tall BUT you still get a great deal of wind that comes around the sides. Wish the shield was 2-3 inch wider on each side, but I'm not complaining since I got the taller under warranty at no extra charge. Oh and I also get the slight water marking around the mount bracket if I don't use my leaf blower to blow off the water after washing. |

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | I bought one of those turbo heated blow dryer units for washing my bikes. I can totally dry out every nook and cranny within 10 minutes of washing the bike. Get yourselves one, it will take care of excess water where you cant reach to dry, and it also totally dries the bike if you get caught in the rain. No rust acid rain or squeaks here. |

Would your blower be the Master Blaster? If so, is it the small or large unit? |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I'm looking to get an aftermarket windshield myself. I stopped by the dealer yesterday and was looking at the '09's and every windshield was the same as my stock with the minor distortin around the last 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the windshield. The dealer said that is "the way" Victory makes them with the "lip" for the wind factor. With that said, is there any difference, and which way if so, in the driver's wind pocket? That's a question for those who have aftermarket shields. Thanks. |

Posts: 29 Hendersonville, TN | I have an 09 Vision and ordered the Cee Baily's 2" taller windshield yesterday after reading all the good attributes; my stock windshield is pretty good except for the very top which has some distortion that bother's me as I curve through the mountains in cold weather, sometimes I just drop the windshield when I come to a tight turn so as to have a clear view...I hoping the new windshield will eradicate all distortion... |

The wind protection with the new Cee Baileys windshield is superior to the factory windshield. Not sure what other "wind factor" your dealer is talking about, but I can tell you the the optics and protection with the Cee Baileys is much improved over stock. At least that is my experience. |

Posts: 266 Hartland, , WI | Got to ride with $Bill the other day and was coveting his Cee Bailey taller shield and his opinion was that it looped the wind coming over the top vs. the stock and his passengers' hair now blows forward...it got me to pause before I pulled the trigger. My assumption was taller was better for my better half that rides with me.

Posts: 1324 So Cal | On the highway the stock shield is just right for me. Riding to work I use a lot of side streets that are very hilly. Half the time I'm looking above the windshirld, half the time Im looking below and the other half, smack dab at the edge. (I know thats 3/2's). Its getting annoying.
The biggest decision is, taller or shorter? |

Since my first windshield back in the 70's, I always ended up using my jigsaw to cut 2-3 inches off the top of every one I bought so I could see 'over' the windshield. That still protects and keeps most bugs off my face, but allows near-perfect vision. When I ordered my Vision, I was happy that I had a choice of windshield height so I wouldn't have to do the jigsaw thing. And I can drop it right down when going slow on a warm day. Ambrosia!!!
If you can imagine your Vision in a windtunnel, you would see the wind cycling over your helmet, while not impeding your sight lines. Worse case for me is maybe a bit of buffeting on the top of my helmet at 80+ mph when windshield is too low. But it never blocks my sight. And in the rain, the last thing you want is raindrops on your glasses/helmet shield AND on your windshield in front of your eyes.
I have a buddy with a Wing that has a shield that is 12" higher than his head. I keep asking him where the button is to put up the top when it rains! |

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | Hey guys now you have my curiosity up on this windshield. I noticed coming home late last night that when i raise my stock shield up to buffet the cold air, it opens up the cold air coming in at the bottom where my hands are. Does this guys windshields design alter this cold weather problem? I might order one for the winter if it does. Anyone who can get me a link to this shield and answer to my question greatly appreciated.

San Antonio is not very flat. When nearing a crest of a hill, even with the stock shield all the way down, I look through the distorted edge of the windshield for road obstructions, deer and oncoming traffic that could cross the center line. I will be getting a Cee Bailey in a few months. |

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | When I ordered my bike - it had option for short or tall windshield. Even tho I am only 5' 8" I ordered the short one, knowing I don't ever like looking thru a piece of curved plastic. So with my shield at full up position, I still look over the top of it - and it provides wonderful protection. And our roads are mountainous and curvy, with some vicious side winds coming off some of the slopes. I have nothing but praise for the stock windshield - looks good, awes the HD guys, and works as it should. |

Posts: 639 Tri Cities, WA | So far my stock shield has worked well and i'm 6'2". Now i have never tried any of the others out the,r not even stock shorter, taller, but it's worked good for me. I would like to see a stock black or dark smoked sheild for our visions. One local guy found a window tinter to do his and if i cant find one already made from the facotry then i may go that route. His tinted shield looks really great all dark. |
