Fountain Inn, SC United States | "The all-new 2017 Victory Octane is the two-wheeled expression of that concept, with a modern twist. This is raw adrenaline that rules the streets. A 1200cc, liquid-cooled V-twin--Victory's first-ever liquid-cooled engine--utilizes dual overhead cams and four-valve heads to rev beyond 8000 rpm and put down an authoritative 104 horsepower. That's more horsepower than any Victory motorcycle ever built. And weighing just 528 pounds, it's the lightest Victory motorcycle ever built, too. No surprise, then, that Octane is also the quickest Victory down the quarter-mile, and the fastest from 0-60 mph, too. And with a price starting at just $10,499, Octane runs in a class of its own."

Posts: 324 New Orleans, La, | A Victory rendition of an Indian Scout plus 49cc's. Polaris is doing what many of the auto companies are doing by redressing existing models to add to a similar line they all ready make. It is a smart move and in creating Indians Chief line they borrowed heavily and refine drive train parts from the Victory's existing line. There is no need to totally reinvent the wheel. I hope this is the 2nd gen Freedom engine and that the 2nd gen Vision is the first model to get the fully grown version next. With 102K on the clock of my '08 and 60 years of age I'm ready for one more Vision but I'm going to wait in hope that Victory makes the Vision I wish they would. Only time will tell. |

It looks like a nice "small" bike, however it sure dose not live up to the hype and the muscle inspired commercials put out by Polaris/Victory. 104 HP ?? Mark my words that will really be 92-93 HP on a rear wheel dyno. As far as sporting intentions go the brakes and foot peg placement are not. What it may do is steal some customers from Harley that were looking at the XL lineup. |

Now granted it is twice the price, but it shows what can be done to a factory V-twin. |

I've wondered that myself since I first saw the Scout design. I doubt there's flex in the individual aluminum sections, but connecting them with two steel tubes for a backbone seems like a recipe for twist. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I'm hoping Victory will not go all liquid cooled, especially the Vision. The Octane looks good and I know it will appeal to a lot of folks when it hits the streets. The endless discussion of redressing is futile. It saves them money and slowly moves them to the niche market at the time, or else they dump it with little to lose. Sounds like a wind-wind situation. Think how much R&D "Indian" saved using what was developed by Victory in the aluminum frame. |
