Man...I've been looking for too long now all over this site and my other Victory websites and the internet on a plan about next year's AVR. Any details out there?

Yes it's old, it's from 2005.

I'll bet 2009 AVR planning has not begun yet. The handful of folks that do the planning do it above & beyond their normal Polaris jobs so I think they're probably busy with their real jobs right now.

While the 2008 AVR was a bigger than any previous AVR (partly because of it being the 10th anniversary), there was talk that having it every year may detract from it uniqueness. It was suggested that having it every other year might be an option. I'm sure when warm weather returns, they'll be some incentive to have it annually again. Special thanks have to go to Amy Eiler and Rich Mencken who planned & made the 2008 rally such a huge success.

Hi Jeff:

Wasn't really interested in August about the AVR then in September bought a Premium so now of course I had hoped it was an annual event like the other brands of bikes do...you know their national rally.

If Polaris isn't going to do one what do you think the interest level would be for a Vision Rally? Had a BMW and outside their national rally they had the Curvey Cowboy Reunion for just the LT riders...something like that?

Vinner -Let's see whether Victory sets a date. I'll also ask my contacts at Victory as to a 2009 AVR.
They really liked the August timeframe Earlier years had it in July which was a conflict for the Victory truck.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Just got a reply from Victory, the dates are set for August 14 & 15, 2009! Put in for your vacation time now.

I suggest that we all use this thread to post lodging info. If you stayed at a hotel last summer, let us know what you thought. Include some contact info if you have it.

Jeff-

IMHO....better for you to start a new thread and make it a sticky. Folks are going to pay more attention to a thread started by you. You will be able to update the thread and keep it cleaned-up.

I mean....do we want the main AVR thread to have a question mark on the end of the title?

Jeff-

Thanks for getting back to me/us. No ones going to hurt my feelings starting a new thread and I second the idea about exchanging lodging feedback. My assumption is that it is again at Spirit Lake?

I'll be attending and will book some vacation time to be sure. Anything special go on for the Vision section of riders as in a neat ride or anything? If not...I'd be glad to help plan ideas or organize something understanding that I am at a disadvantage of not seeing how it went last year. The internet is a wonderful thing!

I did a Lighthouse tour/ride along Lake Superior traveling in the MI side for a week with every night staying at Bed & Breakfast type facilities. Me and the better half are into those little gems and did it all off of the internet...things like that leap to mind.

Let's hear from those seasoned veteran riders, AVR goes, etc. and get creative...I'll help.

Keep in touch!

Vinner

Rob-

You sure know how to hurt a guy that has to mount a snow plow to his bike in Jan just to ride around the block....but that is what I'm talking about...regional rides...getting to know some other Vision riders in your area kind of thing. I guess I'll just have to wait for the pictures.
