Posts: 412 Fargo, ND | I have the S1L1 pipes with stock tips on my bike and I'm looking for your opinion - Will the Tail Gunner Tips change the sound, performance, etc.? Thanks! |

Posts: 143 Sparta, WI | My tech told me that the Tail Gunner Tips will not change anything but the looks. The S1L1 sounds better than stock. I think they are difficult to keep looking clean (The Tail Gunner Tips). Everything looks great when it is clean. My pipes carbon up (S1L2) and need to be cleaned to look good and I got enough cleaning to do without asking for anymore.

Posts: 53 Island Lake, Alberta, Canada | I like the look of the "gunners", but still have the stockers. I am looking for a set of turnouts as I find the trailer getting black from exhaust. So, if any one knows where to get a set of chromed 4.5" turnouts that can be modified to fit, please pass on the imfo. |

Totally different sound that stock tips.
You have to hear the difference and forget the coolness factor..... |

The engineers did not think about SL when they designed these tips. Any aftermarket pipe is much larger. |

That was my name and entry number at a car and bike show.
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, neverwould I sell my Vision.
But I would put sign in window saying.
Look enjoy, but don't touch.

Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | I got to meet and ride with JAMA (An Arkansas Vision Owner) this last weekend in Hot Springs. He pointed out something I did not realize. The Stock Tips do not really fit well on the S1 L1 Pipes. He pointed out (and I saw it) that there is exhaust leaking around the mount point of the stock tip which causes premature blue-ing of the tips.
He had the Tail Gunner Tips and they fit much tighter and looked great. I also like the Powdercoat pictures above so you don't have to keep them clean.

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | I have the S1L1 with Gatlins. Even the Harley crowd are impressed with the sound. Sweet, but not annoying. Gatlin's EASY to keep clean, but I prefer some sign that they have been working and so I leave them pretty much alone. Quick wipe with AutoSol every few weeks on outside - leave inside 'sooty' black. Spectators are always impressed with their look - lots of good comments. |
