Ok, so I live in Virginia which among other Virginia related embarassments such as
Home to a couple of the biggest religious nut jobs, George Macawca Allen, John Bobbitt, etc etc etc, we are also the nations biggest abusers of "vanity plates".

We have so many vanity plates out there, that it is not uncommon to try over 100 attempts before you can find a plate. Trust me, ive exhausted every Victory Vision combination, acronym, synonym, abbreviation, blah blah blah there is.........
U N T I L ....... I pulled my nuts up and typed in the following plate combination.....
and it WAS available. Question is do i have the nads to order it, or am I just playing with fate.
The plate would say NOT A HD

what sayes you all?

While anyone looking at the Vision can easily tell it is nowhere near looking anything like any Harley. I still think the NOT A HD is pretty good. The plate really isn't any type of slam or anything bad against an HD.

I say go for it !!!

You really have 8 "spaces" in your plates in Virginia? Could come up with quite a few options with 8 characters available

Well, first of all I think you do a great wrong to George Allen, who in my opinion was railroaded by political correctness gone too far. He was, and is a good man and was good for your state.

Now, politics aside...my son has the third largest engraving/lettering/boat graphis business in our state, and I had him make me a plate bracket that reads, "It's not....It doesn't want to be" in bright orange and black.

How does this tie in with your HD theme....I'm now on my second bracket because someone didn't like it and broke it.

But if I have to put five on, I'll still do it to dig the "Motor Co. Tee shirt crowd".

I thought about getting "NOT HD" but that is as far as it got. GR8WAY says enough. I do want to get a tee-shirt that says "NICE" over the Motor Co emblem, and then at the bottom "STICKER". Because the most vehicles that act like they are trying to run me over have those stickers. I just laugh at there attempt at manhood.

I'm sorry but I cant help it. HD is a HD, Victory is a Polaris, can't we just leave it that? Tshirts, plates, plate frames, stickers I must be the only one sick of hearing the same thing beat to death. 25+ years of owning HD's for me, now a Vision owner. Could care less what anyone riding anything says. On a final note, on the HD forums I have belonged to over the years I do not recall anything or anyone talking about Victory. Let the hate mail begin.

David,

No buttons pushed. I just laugh when I read about someone that has radio reception issues on their Vision and the answers are, if you think thats bad,I have a friend with a HD, had his radio replaced 3 times already. Help my Vision is leaking oil, answers, could be worse, HD's leak terrible. HD is not perfect, Victory is not perfect, I just can't understand how something as simple as a personalized plate turns in to tshirts, stickers, plate frames, etc. Am I an HD guy, you bet. Trying to be a Victory guy, you bet. On a final note thank you for your contributions to this site, I have learned some from you. I will crawl back under my HD "official licensed product" rock now.

Rut its not a slam against HD i love the HD bikes also. I think what it is, is the fact that the t shirts Hoodies belt bucks and laced underwear is just our way of getting the word out that there is another company out here trying to be more recognized. Harley has been around a long time and is very well established with the entire world. Victory owners are no less proud than HD riders and thats all. As for the slams about radios and oil spots, there are always going to be people out there that just have to bitch about something, even if they have to dig deep to do it. Ride on !

I like it, if I had a plate like that, a few weeks back it might have prevented the question "what year is your Harley?"

Then maybe it wouldn't have.

I gotta tell ya, my Vision has never been mistaken for a Harley. I've had a few people ask me if it's the new Goldwing, though.

Although you may have never seen anything said about Visions and Victory on the sites you've been on, ruttrow, I can point you to a couple of HD boards where there were some extremely harsh words said about Victory in general, the Vision in particular, and even Ness to spice it up. If my memory serves me correctly, on example was a poster who said something along the lines "If any of you ever see me on that gay-ass piece of shit Ness freakazoid contraption, kill me dead." And that was one of the nicer things.

I do agree with ruttrow, though, that we do seem to have a bit of an unhealthy fixation with HD here. I really couldn't care less about comparing my bike to a Harley or going out of my way to try to express the fact that I'm not riding a Harley. I let the bike speak for itself and blaze my own trail, thank you very much.

That's why I went with GR8WAY. I like the banter and the funny thing is the other guys start it but i'll just come back with a vingence, in fun! They can't seem to take it. I work with a Harley owner that forever busted on me about riding my rice burning Goldwing but when I came back with the fact he don't ride and drives a rice burning Toyota, he got made quit speaking, bahhhh! Now he calls my Vision a Vespa on steroids but says at least it is American Made. He's still driving his Toyota and it's been more than a year since I seen his bike.

I've seen plenty and heard plenty and still do. But in the scheme of things I ride because I love it and I ride the Vision because it is the best FIT for me. The forums are just an interjections of life, but it is not life, it is as much I want it to be, in how much I want it to be, but mostly to learn more of the Vision and riding. I could say I would enjoy meeting you and riding together. Have fun and don't be police of what people say, most are grown up and this how they see it. I see banter all around in different facets of life, cars, sports teams and so on, and it exists in the motorcycle world especially. I even own a HD tee-shirt from Mexico. I wore it work and a few of the Harley riders wanted it but I asked if they had ever rode to Mexico. Of course I knew the answer, but I could tell them I did on my raggedy old Goldwing and that was the only black T-shirt I could find with Mexico on it.

Have fun!

My rock is also a numbered limited edition, # 4 of 100, I'm sure it will be very valuable in the near future. Sorry if I started a thread hijacking, back to #4 for me. FWIW, on my Titan Gecko in 2000 I had FHD for a plate.

I gotta go with ruttrow I still like H-D and would actually still like to have my old Heritage back if I could afford both of them, but I can't and I am happy with the Vision for now, but in a few years who knows what I will buy (It will be American though!)

Ruttrow, why would you put FHD if you still like the bikes. FYI - I seen #1 of 100 rock being sold for over a 1,000,000 dollars on e-bay. Thinkin' I might just have to bid on it.

VaParadox - like the BMEUP, Maybe I get a license plate frame with Scotty on the top and BMEUP on the bottom.

Po,

You will have to be on your toes if you think that I'll let #1 slip away. I had a bit of an attitude in those days concerning HD. In this area there was a 1-2 year waiting list, and dealers that had them were thousands over MSRP. I bought the Titan. 4 months later our house was broken in to and the Titan and it's cover were the only thing taken. Decided then nothing as flashy as the Titan again and found a dealer in Ft Wayne Indiana that was willing to sell me a new HD for MSRP. If you are interested I have a HD cookie jar that I could let go for well under 1,000,000. I will even throw in the matching salt & pepper shakers.

I'll take nothing less than the countertop the cookie jar is sitting on and the table the salt and pepper shakers are on. Gotta have the cookie jar and the salt and pepper shakers, of course.
My final offer is $999,999.00, I'm down a dollar, was thirsty and had to buy a Dr Pepper.
Does this include you throwing the #1 Rock in the deal also. Don't know that I'll have enough cash, time the stock market is done with me.
