Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | The below helped one forum member get the splash screen on his Garmin 2720 as it did mine. So here are the instructions I posted plus some additions from Garmin on XImage:
Download the Garmin XImage Program to communicate with the 2720 from here:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=545
Install the XImage Program
The next part suggests you want to use the Vision-Riders Logo (If not, then you will have to format any other picture to the same size, color depth, etc.. as the Garmin Splash Screen.
Download the 2720 Splash Screen from the Vision Riders Download Page:
http://www.vision-riders.com/downloads.asp
Right Click on the Vision-Riders Garmin GPS Wallpaper Link and choose SAVE AS
Save it to a folder on your computer but rename it Splash Screen (To match the name of the Garmin File)
Start the XImage Program and do the following:
To send images to your GPS:
1. Connect your device to your computer. Verify that you have selected the 'Garmin' I/O format on your GPS unit. See your GPS unit's owner's manual for more information.
2. Open xImage and click Next.
3. After a few moments, your device should be listed in the Device Settings window. If not, click Find Device. xImage finds the connected device. If you have multiple devices connected to your PC, select the desired device from the drop down list.
4. Click Next.
5. Select Send images to the GPS, then click Next.
6. Select 'Splash Screen'
7. Click Next.
8. Select the location of the images on your PC, then click OK. The images are sent to your GPS unit.
NOTE: If you have changed the size, palette, color depth, or file name of the original images, xImage will not upload them to your GPS unit. See Customizing Images for more information.
9. Click Finish to close xImage.
The system should upload the Splash Screen Image to your Garmin
