When using crusie control in 6th gear at about 65 m.p.h it is very "surgy". I could understand if it was only an uphill/downhill situation. But it surges even on straightaways.

Does the lash relearn procedure in the tech reference section fix this issue? I think its going to, just wanted to check prior to trying this route.

Not had any problem with surging of the cruise control, but I can say that the reflash did improve things overall, and may indeed make a difference in your problem.

Mine surges also, drives me nuts so I seldom use the cruise control. Another feature of the Ultimate Touring Bike I hate.....

The lash re-learn should take care of your problem. I have only had minor surging depending on the headwind i was going into.

Mine started surging after they put on my S1 L1 Pipes. I am headed to Arkansas this weekend so I am going to do the Cruise Control Relearn Sequence from the Tech Section before I leave. It fixed my original problem and hope it will fix this one as well. Surging will certainly get your attention when you are on a straight road. We expect it going up hill.

Ok...did the cruise relearn yesterday. Took all of about 10 seconds to do.

Went out for a ride last night. Kicked into 6th gear and set the cruise at 70 and no surging. Dropped it down to 65 and still no surging. Dropped it down to 60 and had just one teeny surge. Dropped it down to 55 and again had just a teeny surge here and there.

So the relearn does help the surge issue quite a bit. I think the small surge at 60 & 55 is more of a gearing issue with 6th being an overdrive. None of the surging was anywhere near as severe as it was prior to the relearn.

Yes, I agree with to high of gear for 55 - 60. In 5th I have no surging at those speeds.

Just a note I had a small surge before the reflash but I was willing to live with it my bike seemed great and I was reluctant to have the reflash done. My dealer said try it you'll like it he was right it improved the surge made the shift point better and the bike smoother. If you have not had it done go for it you'll like trust me. Archie

Mine may be so smooth because Florida is so flat! I sure like having cruise though, no more hand cramps!
