| Temperature 95 riding down a road bike shut off. About one minute later the fuel pump came on and it started up again. Road for about half mile shut off. Again waited about a minute during that minute it would not crank over the ABS light was on but the start which was not working. I removed and jumped the two wires at the circuit breaker next the battery bike started ran for about a mile died. It didn't matter if I was going straight or taking turns it would shut off about every mile or two. Switch relays checked fuses now I'm reading something about the tip over sensor. I don't want to just start changing parts relays fuses etc. etc. etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

| do a fuel pump test. Go to auto store rent a tester. Pull right hand cheese wedge. You'll see a black cap like a valve stem cap. Unscrew it screw in tester. Turn on key and crank motor over. You should get 49 psi less pump is bad. Test a couple times

| Thank you very much for all the information. I tested the fuel system electrical fuel pump output and pressure all in good working order. Tested the coils electrical ignition system ignition switch. Went to my local dealer talk to the mechanic that works on the visions he said that tip over sensor was my last option not including wiring harness inspections. Not sure where the tip over sensor is at he said it's behind the front fairing.

Posts: 466 Grand Cane, LA | Had the same problem with the '08 Vision I had and it turned out to be the kill switch. Had to take it apart and clean out the corrosion that got on the contacts. It happened on one of my long trips, but once I cleaned it, it never happened again. Be sure to coat everything with electrical grease once you get it cleaned. I guess the constant washing around the handlebars lets water into the switch which corrodes the copper contacts inside the switch and shorts it out. |
