Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | On the right side of the console down a little ways in the opening between the frame and the gas tank there is a small bundle of wire that comes off the main wiring harness that has a connector on it with a rubber cap over the end. This is the connector that is intended for you to connect the Victory Garmin 2720 to with the wiring cable that Victory ships with the 2720. There are 4 wires that go into this connect and here are their color codes and their purpose. - Orange with blue stripe wire is the positive audio - Grey with blue stripe wire is the negative audio - Black with white stripe wire is the ground - Brown with pink stripe wire is the power positive I carefully cut about one quarter of an inch of the installation on each of the wires off about one to two inches back from the connector. I then twisted the appropriate wire from my GPS unit to the appropriate wire on the wiring harness as identified above and then using a soldering gun and none acid solider used for electrical items I soldered each connection. I then wrapped each connection with electrical tape and then used a piece of shrink wrap over the entire group of wires and applied heat using a heat gun or hair dryer on high to shrink the tubing around the wires leaving the end connector exposed. (I would not use a lighter or match to shrink the tube here as it is too close to the gas cap area). The Zumo 550 has a stereo output for the audio so I used a right angle stereo plug and connected the left and right lead together and attached them to the audio positive lead on the bikes wiring harness as identified above. Using these wires the audio system will mute any other signal when an incoming signal is sensed. So when audio directions are given by the GPS all other audio source are muted. This solution does not work well if you want to use the MP3 player built into the Zumo 550 as you would only get a mono signal and you would be muting all other signals. If you want to use the MP3 player in the Zumo it would be better to use the Vision stock aux port and connect it to the audio out connector of the Zumo using an extension cable. I prefer to use the iPod over the MP3 player in the Zumo and the Vision XM radio option over the XM radio option for the Zumo. If you had another brand of GPS other than an Garmin the steps about should still work fine. |

Are the wires you splced to the vision harness from the headset jack coming from the zumo? On the left side of the Zumo 550 base there are two female plugs. One is a 2.5 mm plug for the microphone and the other is a 3.5 mm female plug for the audio. You can buy a 3.5 mm right angle audio cable with bare ends o the other end that you spice to the wires I mentioned in the other post. This will allow the audio navigation audio announcements to come over the stereo system. The audio from the Zumo 550 is not as loud as the audio from the 2820 but you can still hear it ok. The features of the Zumo 550 are much more important to me than anything else. |

| Spock, you mentioned that the audio is not as loud as the 2820 but that there were certain features that you liked. What are those features?? |

Some of the features I like about the Zumo 550 are: - Brighter display - Touch screen and controls specifically designed to work with winter thick gloves - Garmin lock, secure mount feature for bikes that allows quick release - 4 hour batter support so you can take it in the dinner or hotel and work on routes etc. - High sensitivity receiver, work better in areas where you have obstructions - Supports SD data cards to store songs for the MP3 player, pictures etc. - It has a picture viewer function - Configurable icons for display to show a motorcycles or cars |

| Thanks Spock, Does the Arizona Victory Mount come with the wiring hasrness as the Victory GPS Mount does or is it just a block of aluminum to mount the unit itself?? If it does NOT have wiring harness...what can I do with the wiring harness I already have for my Victory Mount?? Can I use this wiring at all?? |

You only get the mount from Arizona Victory and you can use the wiring harness you got with the Victory mount but if you don't have it you can still make it all work. I have posted on other posts how to splice into the wiring harness to support the Zumo 550. |

Posts: 179 CARTAGENA Spain | I have a Garmin GPS MAP 276C with a connection for headphones. Could connect the headphone output to the connection of the victory so instead of sending the signal to the headset speakers would send the bike team. Think it would work |

Posts: 45 San Antonio Texas | Although not a Vision owner yet, I can help a bit on this project.
1) The 2010 and 2011 Vision has stereo capability at the small right hand plug. Prior years were mono.
2) Make sure you set up the Garmin with full line out volume on the external speaker connection.
3) If the sound is still weak, you can get a small gain amplifier to give a boost. I have seen them for
MP3 players.
I use a 2820 on my 1986 Venture. Had a bit more splicing than you folks. I found the 2.5mm and 3.5mm cables with right angle plugs. Made a cleaner installation. Remember the 2.5mm microphone plug is mono.
I have the XM, bluetooth, stereo, and intercom with microphone capability all hooked and running to the fairing speakers and/or my headsets depending on preference. If you want stereo input for the earlier year Visions, the easiest spot is the aux. input in the left glovebox area.

Hmmmm... I couldn't get stereo out of that plug. The extra wire, I think it was yellow, did nothing.
