Posts: 44 Okeana, OH United States | Does anyone here have these installed or know anything about them? They seem pretty cool but in the pictures it looks like it is just the mirror glass and it has to be mounted on the stock mirror assembly. I couldn't find any specific installation instructions on the site

There are also many other cheaper and easy to do diy ways of adding led's to your mirror area. For example you could buy 5 or 6 individual led's drill a couple of holes along the outer edge, wire them in and you are good to go.

Posts: 167 , OH | I used to make mirrored chess boards all the time. Basically since our mirrors are easy access. You can do it in several ways. VERY CHEAPLY. It will shine thru the silvering on some mirror backs. Press it against and light it up see what you get. You can remove the silvering on the back with by sand blasting, spray etching, or just plain ole elbow grease. Then hot clue or "adhere" the led to the spot on the back and run voltage. that's it.

But, in order to add them the plastic backing will need to be cut away. I've been gun shy on cutting that away not knowing if the lights will shine through the silvering... |

Take a hair dryer or heat gun and get it hot and start prying. If you happen to break the mirror any auto glass company can easily cut mirrors to fit and it will probably be less than than $50</p>

| HI I was looking at your post and pictures and I love it. I notice it have been over a year now since you posted. I am looking to do the same thing and was wondering have you have any problems or have the led went out. Thanks |

I did this mod about 18 months ago. I used red LEDs vice amber. Between this mod and the rear light mod from Vision-Mod.com there is no doubt of my intentions (providing that the cage driving is paying attention and not of the cell, texting, chin wagging, playing with the radio or dvd player.....you get the picture). |
