| Well @ 15,000 miles I'm having leaky fork tubes. Not in a so so way. I called my dealership which was a bit baffled. This is a 2010 Vision. I was told by the mechanic that every time I get a bug of any kind on my windshield, headlight, anywhere up front to wipe down the forks. Bugs will destroy the seals. They suggested using a product called Invisible Glass. Wipe them down. If you notice oil still on them later more than likely your seals are bad and parts and labor $350.00. 1/2 a day. Also he suggested using fork boots. He told me that these bikes were built in a way to suck everything right in the front area. Most any bikes do anyway. So when you're done at the end of each day, I guess, wipe the grime off the tubes to help the seals last longer. Seem like you could fabricate screen to go over the opening to also cut down on the debris.  |

| you could change the seal yourself if thats all you want to do.
Take wheel and fender off a long with breaks.
Now loosen the 6mm allens and pull the fork.
Now with small flat blade screw driver pry up dust boot. Slid off fork.
Now pry off snap ring.
Now pry off fork seal and slid off.
Take with new seal slid it down careful not to damage inside of seal.
now tap seal in place. Get it down far enough to get the snap ring back on.

Be very deliberate when using the Seal Mate. It is thin plastic and will crinkle on you if you do not firmly control the tip as you are inserting it between the seal and the fork tube. Initially it will be tough to get the Seal Mate in... but do not get impatient. It will work; you will see. It worked for me.

Glendale, AZ United States | I think they put two different forks in the 08-09 models, but I think this was standardized for 2010 if I am not mistaken. I would personally use the OEM Victory fork oil and of course watch yourself since this is spring loaded. I would also recommend a bench vice of some sort to anchor the fork in place, but be careful not to tear/scratch up the forks and use some terry/microfiber towels. I think witchdoctors may also have a video on how to do this on youtube. Vlad. |
