Posts: 9 Breaux Bridge, LA | This is my first post so I hope it goes well. I got a 2011 about a month ago. The old owner had the dealership change the ABS sensor since the light stayed on. A week of riding and the warning light came back on. Dealership is 2 hours away or I would take it back.
My question: Is there any harm to the bike is I don't fix what ever is causeing the warning light? |

| Only issue is you wont have abs brakes. Just regular brakes. |

The ABS wheel rings are sometimes damaged with a tire change. If the brake fluid level is just a little low, on a BMW the ABS light will flash or come-on. Especially the rear master cylinder. |

| I had a bad sensor on mine a few years ago, and it caused the ABS light to stay on. But, more importantly, it caused occasional braking issues, where no matter how much pressure I applied to the front and rear brake levers, it refused to transmit to the calipers! Very scary when you can't stop the bike! I would get it looked at ASAP! |

I have had that happen twice over the years on semi-trucks. No matter how hard I pushed the brake pedal, I had no brakes. The manufacturer says that is impossible and that the system is supposed to revert to manual braking whenever there is a sensor problem. Reality is that the brakes did not respond at all, even though there was substantial air pressure and pedal pressure. Bad sensor = no brakes.
No ABS for me on my bikes, thank you.
