The real question, was it a wind generated sound or was it mechanical sounding? Check all that stuff around the battery like the little charging cord. Personnally, I've never heard it.

Yeah I've got it. I have not been able to figure out where its coming from but its pretty annoying.

Next time I go out I'm going to apply some blue painters tape over the panel seams on the fairing and see if I can eliminate the noise. If so, then I think that I can isolate the noise by removing the tape until the sound starts again.

Its been loud enough that I have considered ear plugs.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Good idea report back here with the findings....
and it is annoying it just started for us today....we even heard it over the radio at 15!

as far wind generated or mechanical....to me it sounds as if somthin is hitting a piece a metal at the right angle and creating this or a plastic part and cutting the wind like a shear..if this makes sense
I really need to find this!

On mine it appears to be related though not necessarily caused by windscreen height. When I drop the shield it goes away; but then it could just be that the wind noise and the head buffeting that goes along with this is masking the whistle.

My temporary solution until I get the blue tape out - BOB DYLAN on the IPOD, loud, AVC on max!

I have the same whistle on mine. I just move the windscreen down a bit and it goes away. Not loud enough for me to complain....yet.

you got to be kidding. Your answers are lower the windshield? I'm guessing it has something to do with the skinny belt guard. My buddy said he heard something while riding behind me. If your windshields lower, you get more wind in your face (EARS) then you hear less. I'm no rocket scientist, but come on. I got my Tour Premium Dec. 8 2007. I finally got the recall in the mail on the bike needing remapped, and my ignition being worked on. They expert advise i was getting on here, was i needed to adjust my riding style, then voltage regulator,,,and other asorted dumb, un-educated thoughts. I have been doing the logical thing, turning up my music, and lowering my windshield, because that will fix the whistle/squeak. I check my belt to make sure it's not erroding away...beyond that, anyone have a real idea what it is?

I would love to hear a whistle. My hearing is so shot, my bike could sound like a John Deere and I wouldnt notice. The volume control on the radio works great. I do notice a moaning sound from the intake at cruising speed (I moan too when I'm sucked like that).

I don't know if you are hearing the same thing I have been hearing, but my dealer worked with Victory and found that some pullies are not just right and the contact between the teeth and the belt are creating a chirp/squeal. Victory is checking tolerences and will ship a new one along with a new belt in about a week. Mine started making the noise around 5,000 miles and got worse. Now at 7,500 it is loud enough my wife could hear it from inside her vehicle as she followed me on the interstate on the way to the dealer.

final drive belt alignment.....have the dealer check it CLOSELY. If the belt is not centered, it will make a chirping or whistling sound. Many of us on this forum have experienced this issue.

My Vision was making a noise.......possibly called whistle or chirping noise and it wasn't the belt. It was located just in front of me in the dash area and it was in the 2500 to 3200 motor rpm range, didn't make any difference what gear. By placing my hand on and pressing the bezel cover over the gauges it stopped. Pulled of the bezel and it was rubbing on the center counsel where that little lip comes over the counsel. The contact point was about the diameter of a pencil. Dabbed on a little silicone sealant and a small piece of low density foam, noise is gone.

Mine had the same whistle on the interstate the other night at about 80. It happens only when the winshield is up all the way. I found that dropping it down about 1/8th of an inch eliminated the whistle without affecting my view. Simple solution.

I had that same issue, only mine was a louder very annoying vibration. Same solution. A strip of foam between the console and the bezel, problem solved.

I had the same problem only made noise over 75 mph. lowering the widshield helpedto get ride of it. I went home and disassembled the arms to the windshield added a little graphite grease and havent heard the noise yet it appears to be a vibration in the brakets for the electric windshield that make the noise. not a whistle at all it is a squeak.....

Rodog all I did was take out the 3 bolts that run parallel to the ground (the ones that hold the windshield frame to the mounting points) add a little dab of graphite antiseize grease to the bolts and re-assemble stopped the noise above 65 mph not sure if this is the real fix or if it was somthing else but the noise is gone
