| I was wondering do the level 2 pipes get blue / discolored on the inside tips? How are they holding up? |

Posts: 208 Edmonton Alberta, Canada | They are just different mufflers that fit inside the factory chrome cover. There is no chrome on the level 2 exhaust. I have the gatlin tips, but my ride is burning pretty rich and leaves them black and soot covered. Hopefully when my bike goes in this week they will reprogram to run a leaner. After a summer of riding, I think a little bit louder would be nice. Idiots still do not hear me. |

The Level 1 will fit inside the cover, that is why you can use the Gatlin tip with the level 1 pipe, but can not use the Gatlin tip with the Level 2. Please refer to to 2008 or even the 2009 catalog if you need verification. Hope some dealer did not try to sell someone a level 2 and only supply a level 1. |

I have been hem hawing about getting those pipes S1L2, but I haven't figured out if it was worth the money. I rode a vision setup like mine with the Stage 2, couldnt' really tell any difference, performance wise. Loved the sound though. How do you like them now, after having had them awhile. |

Fourth gear roll-ons are the best sound, throughty and deep pulse. No blueing on pipe. Two allen screws and baffle comes out. To loud with them out for me. |

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | My original order was Stage 2 with Gatlins - that WAS an option. I have been thinking (and told) that I have what I ordered.
Is David White suggesting that I have been hornswaggled?
I love the sound and look of my pipes - no discoloration or any popping etc. And I can hear the intake thru the K&N - I like it.
Gatlins get a little dirty - just proves I ride the bike - not just polish it. |

Posts: 404 San Antonio, TX United States | I noticed you mention STAGE 2, I am not aware of stage 2 exhaust system. Usually Stage 2 refers to upgrading the cams. I am only making reference to Stage 1 Level 2. In the original offer when the Vision very first hit the market, i to thought you could get a Level 2 exhaust with Gatlin tips. After the dust settled, the gatlin tip is only available for the stock exhaust and the stage 1 level 1 exhaust. |

Posts: 133 New Castle Delaware | As usual you are correct. When I bought my Vision the salesman added to the order S1L2 pipes with the gatlin tips. After reading other threads on this topic I told the dealer that the gatlin tips will not work on the L2 pipes. After checking he agreed and said he would put S1L1 on with the tips and refund the difference or put on the L2 pipes and refund the cost of the tips. I chose the L2's which complete chrome pipes without the stock heat shields. I am happy so far with the L2's but I wish they were a little louder. |

I shall have to examine my invoice with great care to see if a refund is in order as I know I went for the most expensive option, and I know I have K&N and Gatlins, so..... I will let you know what skullduggery is afoot. |

Posts: 1484 LaPorte,Tx. | You actually did pay the most. If you have the Tailgunner tips ($249.99) then you have the Stage 1 Level 1 ($499.99) you actually paid more, as the Stage 1 Level 2 is only ($599.99) this is all as per the 08 catalog. The catalog states you can use the tailgunners on only stock and Stage 1 Level 1. |
