Iron Butt
Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | Yes, under the panel that lifts off directly behind the fuel tank is an open harness that is accessory switched. I found it with a multimeter and use it for my LEDs. It's an easy grey plug to find with one black wire and one grey/pink stripe wire for +. A blade type splice connector will fit into the +/- slots on the open harness and a little electrical tape to keep them insulated and secured does the trick. I found a plug that fits at Radio Shack, so I was able to solder everything onto the new plug and then connect it. I would recommend a powerswitch somewhere for your LED's so that you can turn them off if the cops have a problem. That's usally only the case if you're using red or blue (mine are blue and I've been warned in California). Mine is right at the harness under the panel, so I have to lift the trim panel to get to it but it's out of sight. Hope this helped.
