I used 2 - 3 foot strips of flexible waterproof LED strips from Ozinium.com ($14/foot). I bought the RED LEDs, but the color of the strips the LEDs are mounted on are yellowish. I think I may try their white LED strips and use the red lens spray to tint the hole strips red. The white LEDs are 4X brighter than the red LED's, so the red spray tint should not dim them down too much. I mounted them to the bottom edge of the crack (top of the lowers) between the lowers and the door so they do not stick out and the door can open over the top of them without rubbing. A 3 foot strip will bring it just under the chrome piece under the seat. These are not nearly as bright as the new brake light LEDs, but they are bright enough for running lights and they are thin enough to fit in the lower seam.
