Posts: 506 Woodland Hills, CA | I am sure that buried somewhere in the forums there is an answer to this question, but in my laziness I thought I would just ask. Has anyone installed a louder horn, and if so, what was it, how did it work, where did you get it, was it easy to install, etc.? |

Posts: 377 O'Neill, Nebraska | Go with the Stebel Nautilus airhorn. I took another riders tip and created a separate mounting bracket for the stebel so the bike has a 3 tone sound to it. I believe it was TimS who turned me onto this.
Awesome sound and it really gets the attention of the cagers! |

| Ventura Chapter. I think your transfer was just passing through on the way to the Service. He came to a BBQ and then headed out. I have not seen him on any of our rides. Tim

| I have the stock horn relocated and the Stebel Nautilus airhorn for a 3-tone horn. Stebel's output claim on their air horn is very misleading. I am still looking for a ruder horn.

Thanks for the info Tim. Mike was headed back out to sea again if i am not mistaken. Hopefully I can get back in touch with him soon. I have a memorial patch for him that did not come in till after he left. |

What are you doing Saturday? Let's ride somewhere in the afternoon. I would love to check out the horn install. I am getting tired of Land Rover owners dialing cell phones cutting me off.

| Just another thought. You might want to mount the new horn(s) under the HID light, above the front fender. There are a couple of bolts to attach to and plenty of room.
Sincerely, Tim

| If you don't like the airhorn option you could also pick up a louder DB horn at almost any autozone store for around $12 each. I rarely use mine so the horn volume really isn't an issue. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | I tried relocating the horn to the other side of the bracket. Factory location has it pointed into the fairing. It was too close to the rear of the front fender. Thought it might hit over bumps. Moved it back. People in LA dont pay attention to horns anyway. |
