Posts: 506 Woodland Hills, CA | I always try change the oil in all my vehicles at 2500 mile intervals, no matter what the books say. As far as I am concerned, you can never have oil that's too clean, and its cheap insurance. Yeah, I know that with synthetics its not necessary to change the oil that often, but its an old habit, and I have never had a single major engine problem in any vehicle I have ever owned. (Of course, now that I have said that, everything I own will break down!)
But more to your question, yes I changed the oil at 2500 miles, if for no other reason than I would not want to give Victory any excuse to NOT honor the warranty (and I have no doubt that they would take advantage of every angle they could to avoid a major repair under the warranty).
For me, I always follow the book until it is out of warranty just to make sure I don't have any problems should I need the warranty.
Don't have the extended warranty so I can't comment on that. |

Posts: 38 San Diego, California | I purchased an extended warranty for 4 yrs, plus the one year manufacturers that's five. I also purchased a service plan. It cost $1400, which is alot of bucks but it covers EVERYTHING parts and labor. I can have it serviced every 2500 miles and they pick up and deliver! The dealer said they actually lose money if you ride and service regularly which is my situation. I ride alot so it is a good deal. I used to buy the Victory oil change kit for $60. in San Diego and do the changes myself on my Kingpin. I think I will get my money back and then some. |

| 3 Vics over 65000 miles. Changed my oil every 2500 on all of them. I use Amsoil, but thats just me. I had won a Vic oil change kit about a year ago. Ran out of Amsoil and thought what the heck. It just does not run as smooth IMO.
I would keep receipts and logs of when you changed your oil to support the warranty. |

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I thought about pushing it to 3000 since I am averaging 2000 miles a month. After seeing what the old oil looked like I decided it wasn't worth it. The oil is SO easy to change what difference does a week make. Still using Vic oil, but plan on going full synthetic next go round. Maybe that combined with cooler weather I push it a little.
7600 Miles since 5/30/08
