Fountain Inn, SC United States | Despite the precipitous downward stock price, Polaris has not been sitting still. They just announced the acquisition of Brammo Electric Motorcycles.
From the Press Release:
Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) today announced it has acquired the electric motorcycle business of Brammo Inc. In addition, Polaris is acting as a leading investor in a recapitalization of Brammo that enables the company to focus exclusively on the design, development and integration of electric vehicle power trains.
Going forward, the two companies will leverage Polaris' leading position in the global powersports industry to market a variety of electric vehicles utilizing Brammo's award winning lithium-ion electric drivetrain technology, while freeing Brammo to continue developing its innovative electric vehicle powertrains. Brammo supplies these products, including the Brammo Power battery pack and Brammo Power vehicle management systems, globally to a wide range of OEMs. As part of this transaction, Polaris will utilize the assets acquired to begin manufacturing electric motorcycles in the second half of 2015 at its Spirit Lake, IA facility.

Posts: 161 Albuquerque NM | Good for Polaris! I don't want an electric bike, but good for them.
I was just bombing down the interstate enjoying the sound of the V-twin at 3,000. |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | I had to look up the info and caught a few videos of the bike. WOW and more WOW. The super bike was competing with the 1000 CC bikes and catching and passing them on the straight aways like they were standing still. Granted it was their video but if its close WOW. the rider had to keep dialing back the torque, so that he didn't wheelie out of every corner. Now I want one. The bike was 200 lbs heavier and just looked like massive acceleration. |
