Posts: 24 Chicago | I have an appointment to go to The Vic Shop in a few weeks for a cam upgrade. After reading some post on other sites I have come across a few people saying that if you install the newest cams from LLoyds in a Vision you need to change the clutch. Has anyone had a problem with the clutch slipping from the cam up grade? |

Talk to Rylan about it. I think you will find that the stock clutch can hold up to about 120 FT/LBS of torque. If you go over that, you may need to beef up the clutch.

Posts: 77 Bainville, & Mesa, AZ, MT | I have just about everything Lloydz has to offer for the 106 on my 13 Vision, it still has the factory clutch and hooks up just fine. Now my 08 with a Barnett clutch is a different story.
I would be curious to know what Ryan has to say about it.... |

Thanks for changing my 'excitement' into 'just plain damn FUN !!!"

Posts: 169 The Vic Shop - Central Iowa | My experience has been that the Visions are most prone to clutch slippage being the biggest bike in the Victory lineup. A Vision with Lloydz VM1 cams will do (with the right pipes) about 118/118 on my dyno, which is not in the clutch slippage danger area yet.
BUT, if we install the VM1-Tour cams the numbers will be in the low 120's and well into the danger zone of maxing out the clutch. Therefore I make the bigger clutch upgrade an option at the time of any build (especially Visions) where the power will be over 120/120ish. |

| I would suspect its because the Hydraulic clutch isn't releasing all the pressure on it. I base this on what I experienced when I made my assist bracket to get a lighter pull on the clutch. Everything was fine till I slamed it in to 3rd on full throttle & high rpm's. ( yes it scared me). When I was making it I did notice that the clutch never did have all the pressure off the clutch like they show to adjust a cable clutch. Since there is no adjustment on the hydraulic clutch I think that manufacturing tolerances made some hydraulic clutches slip under presure where other don't.
P.S. my bracket let me adjust this out of it so I have no slippage under heavy stress. |
