Im new here but i just read about a guy on here who just mounted his zumo 550 where the stock GPS goes on the Vision. He even included pictures of how he did it. Just do the search feature and read what he has done and how. hope this helps.

I used a standard round base RAM mount (about $12) in the position of the stock mount, and also used the stock audio cable, removing it from the glove box.

I bought the mounting bracket for the Zumo 550 that Arizona Victory makes and it works great. It is just like the Victory Vision mount from Victory for the 2720 but is a little taller and has a slightly different angle to support the Zumo 550.

Check out this forum thread as it has about everything you need to know in connecting the Zumo 550 to the Vision.

thanks for the replys...good info. I like the idea of the 12.00 ram and it being a little lower than the vision provided one.
GA....did what did you use to secure? metal screw? or did you bolt it on by taking the console off? did the dealer do it? just trying to find the best way to go. I dont want to screw up my new bike : )
1 more...where and what did you hard wire the power to?
thanks again everyone.

Hubby & I did the install ourselves, used sheet metal screws with lock nuts (Lowe's. A couple of bucks). Hubby did the wiring (I have no clue about electrical...). I think he wired it into the accessorry fuse... But, like I say I have no idea about electrical. This might be when I am the 'dumb blonde' on the board... hehe

Spock,

I read your post about connecting the wires to the bikes 4 audio wires....do you know of hand what color wire from the Zumo go to what color wires on the bike? Also, is it possible to get the wire harness meant for the 2820 to plug into the bikes harness and connect my zumo wires to that so I can plug into the bikes audiop harness for the gps? thanks again

Hi jeffmack....I mounted my Zumo550 same way as GAgirlTrixie. I took a bunch of pictures throughout the process and posted them in the Tech Reference section. Here is a link.

I also added a Touratech Locking Mount for the Zumo. I absoutely love the setup with the Zumo on the Vision.

Hope this helps....

does the zumo voice commands come thru the speakers on the bike? can you still listen to a Ipod while doing so?

I have my Zumo connected to the Audio system via the Aux jack in the storage compartment. All my music (including playlists) are loaded on a 4GB memory card in the Zumo that I sync using WinAmp software (free download). Music plays through the speakers. When there is a voice prompt from the Zumo it will automatically pause the music, give the voice direction, and then start playing the music again. It works very well.

The only "problem" with this set-up you can't use the Ipod. I am planning to connect it to the GPS harness on the bike by tapping into the wire harness for the stock GPS. Someone else posted the colour codes for the wires in the harness. This should allow me to have the benefit of both the GPS Voice prompts and full functionality of the Ipod from the handlebar controls which will be even better than my current set-up. I just haven't had the time to tackle this project.
