| Hello Everyone Friend of mine is interested in a Vision and ask me what the major changes/improvements were by model year since we had ours in 2008 I did not know ........can someone help him out by replying to this post? I will copy all the replies and e them to him. >>>>>>

| They changed the gears in 2011 for supposedly smoother changing and it also extended the service interval, other than that not much has changed, I think they stripped some of the chrome bits off (tipovers. bars ect)
They come stock with reverse here in Australia, reverse is avaliable as an option or add on. |

Jasper, MO | The Vision Tour Premium that was originally available went away, meaning that a lot of parts that are chrome on the early models are painted on the newer models. The lighted side badges and the stock HID driving light of the VVTP also went away on the later models, as did the gas struts in the saddlebags. Later models have ABS. All Visions from the 2009 model year forward can have reverse installed. The 2008 lacks the mounting bosses on the frame for the optional reverse, so it is not an option for the 2008. The stereo was improved in 2010. The 2008 and 2009 power outlets are the Powerlet (BMW) style and were downgraded to a regular cigarette lighter style socket from 2010 forward.

They really hurt the vision when they stopped the premium model. I love the chrome on my 2008 and don't care for the new ones.
+1 The newer ones just look cheap to me compared to the Premium models. No REAL mechanical improvements over the 2008/2009 models. I've ridden a new demo every year, but nothing has happened to make me want to trade in my 2008.

I own both a 08 and a 13, I think they have actually gone downhill in that time, much prefer the 08. The only improvement is finding neutral on the 13. They have really cheapened the new ones up, also noticed a big increase in vibration on the 13 over the 08 at higher rpm's.
If I had a do over, I would seek out a good used older Vision. |

I personally did a lot of research before I pulled the trigger on my 09VV Premium about 1.5 years ago since I do not have deep pockets and have a hard time paying 20K on a new vehicle, much less a motorcycle. I buy used and will continue to buy used in the future. Much more chrome on the 09 in addition to the Victory lighted badges, which you do not see on the newer models. HID headlight on my 09 Premium model, which absolutely rocks and I would venture to say is one of the better headlights on any production motorcycle to date. The drawback is ABS was not standard back then, and oil change interval is every 2500 miles, which takes about 10 minutes to do for any shade tree mechanic in their garage. Victory made some subtle improvements to quiet down the drive train noise as well since then. I personally think as mentioned previously, if you find a clean/low mileage 2008/2009 VV premium and are OK with not having ABS, buy it.  |

North Billerica, MA | My 2012 Tour came with linked ABS, HID headlight and Chrome trunk rack.
I added the Victory heel/toe shifter, larger brake pedal, I-Pod cable and some chrome right away.
Then after the first season, did some performance mods:
Arlen Ness twin filters
Dyno'd and tuned by Kyle of KMC Motorsports, and he added
Lloydz VFC
Lloydz adjustable timing wheel set to +4
unplugged O2's
I get good numbers throughout the usable power range
109 ft. lbs. of torque from 2k to 5500k. 47MPG and runs cooler! Gotta love it! |

I use Amsoil full synthetic in my 2008 and change oil every 5,000 miles. The original 2,500 mile intervals seemed very conservative. |
