I have a grey vision which was purchased in Feb. 08. I have about 2,000 miles on the bike. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a oil smudge on the bottom left side of the chrome clutch cover by the shift lever. I thought nothing of it and just wiped it with a cloth. A couple of days ago I noticed it again. It appears to be coming from a rubber boot that has some wires going into the clutch. Has any one else had this problem. Oil is not leaking yet, just seeping out. I will take to dealer when I get the chance. Also does anyone no what these wires are for? Again it is down below the engine, toward the front, by the shift lever. Any input is greatly appreciated. I'm sure it is minor, and have no other real complaints about the bike. | |

Posts: 404 San Antonio, TX United States | While trying to decipher your explanation, it sounds like you are talking about the wires that come from the stator. This of course would be your charging system. There is no oil pressure in this area other than a spray jet located near the center, lower section of the primary that keeps oil sprayed on the gears. If the oil is actually seeping through this area, you should get it inspected and your dealer should be able to correct this issus with out much trouble. | |

It is definately (trust me on this) your oil pressure sensor. MANY are starting to fail on the Visions. I just replaced mine. Caution, at some point it WILL begin pouring out oil. I got lucky with mine and took a 2,000+ trip with mine leaking slowly. The next time I rode after the trip it pissed oil. Get it replaced pronto. Should be under warranty, and Victory knows there is a problem with them. | |

While the part was on order, I ran with mine leaking for a week before I cleaned my bike. Even though it was a slow leak, oil was blowing back onto the rear disk brake. The disk and pads were filthy with oil and crud.
I bought a sensor for 3.99, laid the Vision on the right side tipovers and replaced the sensor. Then took the Vision to the car wash. I laid the bike on its right side tipovers and used a degreaser on the lower part of the engine and the rear brake and rinsed the crud off.
Prolonged running with the oil leak would kill the rear brakes ability to function and the pads would need to be replaced. Also, no telling when the dripping oil turns into spilling oil. I guess then the leaking sensor would turn on the "low oil pressure" light.
