Posts: 117 South of Houston Tx | I got up the other day and the weather people were talking about how we got a benefit from Gustav in Houston because it was pulling cooler dry air down to us. I can sure appreciate it, I got up early on Wednesday morning and headed to Corpus, about 175 miles from my house. I think it was still in the mid 80's when I got there, around noon when I finished my job it had just reached 90. when I finished, I road down Shoreline Dr. from Morgan st. back to 37 and then out of town and back towards home, It always seems cooler right on the water. I think it was in the mid 90's when I got back, but it was still cooler than what it has been, I think when the near 100 degree temps are hitting us at 8 O'clock in the morning and the sun beats down on the pavement all day it just makes for a lot more heat even if the temp is only a few degrees warmer. I can't wait for the end of October to get here!! |

Posts: 377 O'Neill, Nebraska | This is the time of the year where I love living in Texas. But from April thru August we suffer our 'bad weather' which means 100 plus degrees each day. I look forward to cooler riding days.
Cheers! |

Posts: 21 Plano, TX | I'm a Texas girl and while the heat comes with the territory, it's a pain to try to ride and still have big "Texas Hair". The cooler temps this week have been awesome. The ride to work every morning gets the day started off right. Watching the sun rise too makes it that much better.

I agree with you on everything except the Big Hair thing. If I had it all of my co-workers would think my name was Lyle Lovett. Of course us San Antonians like Lyle but he can keep the hair.
You do bring up another great point. Since I purchased my Vision I too have been riding to work each day. What a pleasure it is to walk out the door at the end of the day and know I get to ride the MC back home.
Just doesn't get much better than this!
Cheers. |

Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | I'm riding good ol' Rt. 66 right now and I can't believe how nice it is in the Midwest. It's been in the 80's during the afternoon and drops down to the low 60's at night. This is the perfect time of year to ride. Not everyone gets every-other month off from work and I appreciate that. That's why I'm proposing a Congressional petition of all tour bikers. We'll call it... Tour Biker's Union! Union makes it sound kinda official, dontcha think? Once the movement is formed, we'll tour to Washington, where we'll camp out on the Whitehouse lawn and hold a tail light vigil. If that doesn't work; we'll have to resort to a tail light vigilante! ...Or we could just keep rackin' up miles on the bikes. Probably a better idea anyway. |

Posts: 150 Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | While you have humidity, storms, and such we have cool thunderstorms giving us the finally below 100 temps for a change.
I'd give the bike a ride to my after work rehearsals of the play I'm going to be in, but crazy folks in rain in the desert give me a chill way below the temps displayed on the temp gauge~!
Anybody know the literary works of Franz Kafka? If you're in Las Vegas in Early Nov. I will be appearing in a play about Kafka... Metamorphosis and more!
Hey Bike Fest in Las Vegas coming up the first weekend in Ocotober, anyone but me being part of it?
