Posts: 167 , OH | How I tackled installing 6 1/2 inch speakers on a victory vision in the stock space. (as well as the rest)
This can easily be done on the bike.
Adding Rockford Fosgate T400 x4ad 400watt 4 ch amp, and a Rockford Fosgate T400 x2ad 400watt 2ch amp
(2) 6 1/2's for the front (Fosgates) (2) 5 1/4's for the rear (Fosgates) (2) 8" marine grade subs to the rear bags.
And a bunch of other's while it is nakid. over 800 watts Clean
First. Size perspective stock to 6 1/2's.

Very soon you will be able too
Wont have to cut or modify your speakers either and void their warranty. I have custom pods in pre-production that will let you fit most any size 6'5, even the HUGE JL Marine coax's in there with ease. Should have a few 3D printed prototypes done next week, hopefully will have completed production ready pods ready to snap right onto your bike within 30-60 days. Send me a PM if you would like more info as they become available!
Also in the works but a bit further out is a drop-in saddlebag sub woofer and 6.5 pods to fit the tour trunk also.
Stock:
Mine: Drop-in subwoofer cabinet: Speaker size comparison... Sub, 6'5, stock.

| Say keep the old speakers. The magnets work great for picking up spilled nails and bolts. Or take the magnet and attach it to a socket or screw driver for long reach or to hold nut into socket. |

Posts: 167 , OH | Very clean sounding. 400w amp on the left bag , 400w amp on the right bag, 400w amp on the left tank for the 6 1/2's front and 5 1/4 rears. not pushing the whole amps but very very clean sound. |

Posts: 167 , OH | So far no issues. I have not really left it sit without running the bike and the system cranked up. But With normal listening and the bike not running, no issues. I did however swap out to an earthx lithium battery. Earthx ETX36C. Our local Iron Pony Super store had them on clearance. Cheap. I called earthx after I bought it to ask a question. They immediately sent me a newer model stating they insist on standing in front of their products. Love it.

Posts: 10 St. Paul, MN | icemann- Are you still looking to mass produce the inserts to install 6 1/2" up front? If so, I'd love to get a set from you. This would make a good winter project as I've already run all my wires and installed an amp.....Nice write up, thanks!!

Posts: 167 , OH | Regulator444, Sorry Im not the right person your linking. I routed out my 5 1/4 holes enuff to fit the 6 1/2's. No reason to use an insert. Cadillac Bob is who made the inserts made them so the entire dash can be panted as well as accommodate the 6 1/2's. Sorry.

Posts: 804 Perry Hall, MD | Nice work Icemann. I took a cheap set of 6 1/2 speakers just to try the fit and it couldn't have been much easier. Thanks for the write up.
If it helps someone else avoid the same mistake; I had to elongate one of the mounting holes and ended up with metal shavings pulled into the speaker by the magnet. Covered the second one prior to drilling just leaving the area to be drilled exposed to avoid replicating the problem. |
