These are K&N type filters. K&N says that they can go as long as 50,000 miles between cleaning depending on riding conditions. I've used K&N before and I clean them prior to each riding season, which I ride about 10,000 miles or so a year. If you want to know for sure ask..........Lloydz.

I asked Lloyd that when I first installed mine; he said to replace it every 60,000 miles; or more often if you ride in dusty conditions.

I have put the top air filter lloyzd, the first model took one carrying a kind of foam between two metal plates, and not that product should I use to clean it. I'm thinking of buying the current model have to be cleaned with K & N products

I clean and oil my filter every 10k miles with the K&N recharge kit. Cheap and easy. 1 kit lasts for 4-6 cleaning and re-oils

I have the current Lloyd's model (hour glass shape), I pulled it out to clean it at 30,000 miles and it wasn't even dirty.  So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I've got the Ness filter in front and the Lloydz on top. I'm going to let the front filter be my guide. I expect to get 10's of thousands of miles using the pair.
I haven's thought about the K&N in the Vegas for years. I may invest in a 'service'/'recharge' kit for it and be ready for the vision filters down the road.

Top filter doesn't get that dirty but then it depends where your riding. Lot of dirt roads or dusty country side will make it dirty.
Last fall I was ridding a lot of farm roads when farmers were bring in there corn crop. Never thought about it but is the spring I pulled the dash and found
a leaf cough in the filter.
