Posts: 66 Harrisburg, PA | Today I spent about 5 hours installing the CB/Intercomm system. I must say it was very easy to do. I am glad I did not pay the dealer to do it. The system works great, Volume works great in both of our helmets. Very easy to use also. Not sure I like the VOX feature as the wife like to sing! Thanks to the easy settings this can be disabled. The CB also works really well. Not sure on the broadcasting distance though. I will test that with a trucker on the interstate tomorrow.
I have an idea for a better FM radio attenna... The local CB shop sells adapters to to plug an AM/FM radio into a CB anttenna. I wonder if that would give us any bettter am/fm reception? I fear not being able to line up the attenna mount on the other side of the truck though as there are not any marks on the right side of the trunk like there is on left side. When I get time am going to try it with the current CB radio Anttenna. (will have to disconnect it from the CB to test radio reception though). I will post when completed. |

Posts: 212 Tavares, Fl | I worked all day Tuesday instaling mine and am not finished. Hopefully you can help. The new harness plugs into the radio and two cables come toward the back, one all the way to the cb. The shorter one ends under the seat and I cannot figure out what if anything it plugs into. I had to put everything back together as we are on an 11 day trip then I'll finish it up... Roger |

There is also another plug half way down the harness thats for the XM rado module. Just make sure that when you lay the harness in the bike, the area in front of the seat is laid down neatly with little to know crossing of cables. You can see a notch cut in the foam for the harness to lay in. If it is even just a little bunched up, it will have a tendency to pop the cover up out of the rubber grommets.

Posts: 212 Tavares, Fl | Now I'm confused. I mounted the CB in the bottom of the trunk per the directions. Where is yours mounted? I would rather get a CD changer and put it in the bottom of the trunk if the CB can be mounted elsewhere....I hooked up the CB wiring and it shows up on the display but there is no reception with the stock cb antennae.... |

Posts: 404 San Antonio, TX United States | I am sorry for confusing you, it is late when i am typing this. I dont personally have the cb, i have just installed the harness and accessories at the dealership on a few of the bikes. You are right, the CB is down in the hole and the CD changer takes up room in the trunk if you install it. The iPod is the only way to go for carrying alot of music. As for the CB you need to find yourself a reputable CB shop that can tune the antennae for the radio. Supposedly the Victory antennae is ready to go, but i have not heard great things about it. The J&M antennae is only $20 and has SWR tuning capabilities to match it perfectly to your CB. |
