| Post on the other forum says it's a crankshaft thrust surface problem. If you're in it, the dealer or polar should be contacting you very soon.
So.... all the people that bought new vics after a long winter, will have to sit out this riding season. No friggin way they are going to replace
all those cranks that fast.... but we'll see. This could really hurt vic's sales this year. |

According to the recall it is an issue with the thrust surface of the case, and not the actual crank. You can check the build date of your bike on the Vin sticker |

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | It would seem that of the 879 bikes that were built within the time period, and had engines from that batch. Only 123 were sold to customers. This means that those customers will be able to be taken care of. |

Posts: 119 CASTRO VALLEY, CA United States | I'm glad to see Victory stepping up and accepting responsibility and issuing this recall. Having about 123 bikes being recalled is much better than reading about dead or injured bikers over Victory manufacturer defects. That would put a quick end to Victory, and a big step forward for Indian. Thumbs up to Vic for issuing this recall within a week of catching the defect with the bulk of the bikes not in the customers's hands yet.

Posts: 1340 Gainesville Fl Home of the Gators | It appears that Ma Vic does have a method in mind that will allow dealers to measure the end play for possible failures, and they expect VERY FEW to fail the test. Everything should be in place around mid week for the next phase. |

Posts: 13 Goodyear, AZ United States | May 2nd I had two voicemails (back to back) from Ma Vic and a third from my dealer telling me about the recall and deadlining my new vision. Hope they get it fixed soon. Not missing much riding here. Been awfully windy and we ride 365 in the Valley of the Sun. But it is an expensive paper weight right now |
