Posts: 111 Salina, KS | Just got an email saying Victory is unable to host the rally this year due to business operations.....wow! Maybe re-tooling for an updated Vision is causing the issue?

I don't think there is any need to worry about the company folding any time soon. Just too much going on with construction and preparation for the future. Probably more related to the Indian project. |

| Well, this going beyond sucking. I've gone since 2008. I guess let's cancel the Victory Rally to make room for more Indian production. I've been to two Indian Dealers in Indiana. The first had 50 deposits last year, and the other has already sold over 40 this year. I was at a dealership two weeks ago, 90% of the people there were only looking at Indians. A couple looked at Victory and went back over to the Indians. Anybody want to bet in 2015, it will be the Victory-Indian Rally? |

Posts: 175 Hinton, Iowa | I think it's pretty sad at this late date when people have already planned their vacations and made reservations. But I assure you that there are plans being made to carry on without Ma Vic. Victory sales set a record sales for the 1st quarter so they should have the financial resources to at least help the VMC pull it off. I'm going anyway. I think a lot of people will. |

The VMC will be working with the other organizations in a cooperative effort to bring everyone the event this year. Stay tuned Thor details. |

If it's sales driven I am good with it. Since I bought my '99 new I have been waiting for this moment.

| When I was there last year, some local people said the AVR is a big event for the city. I can honestly say I think last year's attendence was the largest I've ever seen. Even bigger that the 10th anniversary celebration. Victory turns 15 years old and they cancel the AVR? If the VMC can pull things together and have and event, they deserve a personal thank you from everyone that shows up. I'll be there if something is put together. Thanks for taking the bull by the horns Highwayman! |

I would bet that Polaris does Not want the Indian and victory name associated With each other for many reasons.... One might be die hard Indian people who thought all the new Indians would be is a re badged victory or it might devalue the originality Of the brand. The list goes on and on... from the way it appears in your post Indian doesn't need any help from victory To sale their bikes.. Hell even j Leno is being a pimp for indian! Everything victory was or Is shooting for might not be the same game plan for Indian.... it's not that there is anything wrong with victory... I can bet some of these Indian buyers are buyers who didn't want a victory.. (for what ever reason) |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | Victory may not be participating this year but other people are still expecting to hold an event. The VMC has already stepped up and said they will be making sure the event comes off properly. Many of the vendors look forward to the event and have made commitments to be there. I see this as merely a statement that Victory will not participate this year, not that the event has been cancelled. |

Posts: 103 Duanesburg N.Y. | yesterday was the indian demo days at my victory dealer..Steve Mennito vice president for victory was there for that. Nice guy. Next month is the demo days for victorys. Curious to see if he is there for that. Victory is really concentrating alot on the indian line and with the amount of money they have dumped in to is I can understand that. Makes me wonder if they are forgetting on what got them to where they are now. With the new model the gunner, a lame increase to the victory bike line kinda makes me wonder a little, but they are doing alot of construction at the plant right now. |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | Polaris is a well run company. If they are building out their assembly capacity I would bet there is a sound reason for it. I am really looking forward to seeing what they make of both product lines. |

Polaris is a VERY WELL run company.
I don't understand all the naysayers who worry that "Victory is going by the wayside". Polaris and Victory are expanding. We are seeing growth pains with no factory tour available this year. Plant expansion means more capacity and room for more lines.
Watcha all bitchin' about? Honda has been selling the same, or restyled same old Goldwing since 2001. And the rumors of the demise of , or all new, (take your pick) Goldwing have been around longer than the Vision.

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Expansion is usually a good thing: Maybe Steve Menneto took my advice. This past spring in Daytona I saw Steve standing on the curb waiting to cross the road between the Victory/ Indian displays on his way over to the DoubleTree Inn. I pulled up beside him on my Vision and said "Hey Steve, next time ya'll redesign these things put a 120 cu inch v four in it" He laughed and said "I hear ya man"..............Hahahahaha
Just adding some levity to the situation.......
