Thanks for the kind words.
First question is the iPod cable.
Purchased the optional cable.
Tried to fish the cable ends up through the little hole to unplug the stock headphone cable. They appear to be zip-tied and are not loose enough to reach through.
Question: Looks like I will have to pull the radio assemble panel to get to the iPod cables. Looks pretty easy. Reviewed the video on fairing disassemble by WitchDoctor.
Any comments or advise? |

Posts: 92 Moncks Corner, SC United States | You will need to remove the instrument bezel with a plastic scraper or equivilent. It should pop out with a little effort. Remove the panel in front of the seat. Again it should pop right out. Then you can loosen, and move to one side the center console. (5 fastners I think). Run the IPOD cable through and connect. On a side note, Radioteacher had a good link no how to set up the IPOD for the vision if you can find it. Welcome aboard! |

Good eye there Arkainzeye! Thanks for the tip. You are absolutely correct. It appears they carefully blacked out just about everything, but certainly missed the fork bottoms.
I'm still on my honeymoon with the girl and haven't got all my thoughts together on what I will do in the future. |

Back-atcha okie vision.
Used to reside in Tulsa (many years back). My oldest son is a PhD and OK State grad. Go Cowboys!
Back when I first relocated to Oklahoma, my Dad advised me "Son, when an Okie says he's gonna do something, don't turn your back. He means it!" |

Thanks jurgens.
I have a love-hate relationship with black bikes. I'm a little OCD and black is beautiful, but I can never get it completely clean and dust free. But when she is clean.................. :D
Well, had my first problem with the Vision. Loose bolt at the muffler support thing. Caught the bolt being loose just before it departed the bike. Looks like an Iowan missed it on the assembly line. LOVE IT!

Posts: 180 Georgia On My Mind.... United States | Thanks again all, for the warm welcome.
Well, the new iPod cable install was a bust.
The factory wires to the plugs are too short. They must be zip tied back too far or something.
Pulled the radio console and could get to the little plugs, even pulled them down where they would dangle by the rear cylinder. BUT they are simply too short to reach the new iPod cable at the glovebox.
The new iPod cable is much shorter than the stock "headphone" cable.
Looks like I will need to pull the left side fairing to get to the wiring to try to figure out why they are too short. I think they are anchored somewhere and won't allow me to pull them up to the glove box opening.
Any suggestions?
By-the-way, is there a video on removing the fairing?

Thats the first thing I did to my 13 last fall when I got her. I pulled the center console up a bit just to get access, and slipped the new cable into the grommet and snapped it into the cable on the radio side. That being said, last week I took that cable and the little black box attached out of the little mini glovebox and plugged an extension ipod cable to it and routed it back the the little cubbie on the front of the right side saddlebag. So my ipod sits in there now in a little rubber case. Check the tech pages for a short write up on it. |

Posts: 92 Moncks Corner, SC United States | Are you trying to pull the factory wires/plugs into the left compartment, or feeding the IPOD adapter through to the factory wires/plugs? If I remember correctly, the factory wires/plugs won't reach all the way into the left compartment. Although I could be wrong. |

I'm following the written directions that came with the new iPod cable. BUT the factory wiring will not reach into the left compartment as they state they should.
I ran the new iPod cable through the little hole in the compartment. BUT the new iPod cable will not quite reach the little plugs coming out of the wiring loom. I'm about two inches (or so) short of the proper reach.

Posts: 92 Moncks Corner, SC United States | Sorry to hear that. Mabey the wire is zip-tied further back like you said. Or if not mabey you can reroute what you do have to reach the adapter. By the way, just where is "The Deep South" you are located in? Because the SE Victory rally in Helen, Ga. is fast approaching. Great place to pick up all kinds of info on your new toy, and mabey some upgrades. Good luck. |

Actually, it's really no big deal. It was raining all day and I had nothing better to do. Certainly those wires are connected to the radio unit. It's just a matter of taking the time to figure out where they are routed and tied.
My dealer promised to install whatever accessories that I purchase from him for free. I may just pay him a surprise visit. "Lookie here dude! Won't work like the directions say so!"
I travel across highway 16 quite often, to dodge LA (lovely Atlanta) heading to my frequent visits to family in Alabama. My hacienda is a little further south from y'all.
I'll check the Helen date with my on-call schedule. |

| did you get the thirty pin Ipod cable connector??
Push the rubber plug out of glove box. Run the two little wires threw it and now fish it back to the panel in front of the seat. Pug them into the two Ipod plug ins
you should have plenty of wire if you have the right plug in

Posts: 180 Georgia On My Mind.... United States | Since I can get to the little plugs, even though they don't reach close enough to the glove box to plug into the new iPhone adapter...
...I've decided to order the Victory long iPod cord and just locate the iPhone in a saddle bag. Just found out they offer the extension cord.
