The reason I ask is I might be looking to trade for a new vision .I have a 2008 and hate to jump the gun if they have some new stuff coming out. Sense HD came out with a new audio system and Indian has some sort of fancy set up. It got me wondering if victory had any thing in the works. The only other thing I see that would help is some improvement in the saddle bag size. Other than that I really see no reason to trade other than the bikes showing some age. A scuff here, a paint chip there, normal things. I went nuts when the vision first came on the scene . Now I'm wondering if they have anything new other than paint coming out???

<p>There will be new electrics I'm sure of that. Maybe even a bigger motor. Maybe some body changes. Yes I think the gages will change a long with fly by wire throttle and that will be nice.</p><p>The new ones will come out at sturgis but you can bet the dealers will know by mid july</p>

The dealers may or may not know early on but unless you have a VERY good relationship with your local dealer, don't expect them to let on that they know anything. I bought my Vision brand new from my local dealer in Sept 2012 and asked them just before Sturgis last year if there was anything new coming out for Victory in general. Their answer was, "How would I know?". If they knew anything, I think they would have told me just to keep my business. (Or not.)

Yup. 2014 is the last model year of the Vision. (Anybody want to buy a "classic" 2012 Vision? $35k gets it!) lol

I can do better than that MM. I will sell a '13 for that same price and I have some added bling, the lower wind deflectors and the timing wheel. I will take all of the risks associated with no 2015 Vision model.

The only thing my dealer knows for sure is that there will be a new motor and transmission produced by Victory.

Now, this could be the smaller water cooled motor we saw sketches of a few weeks ago.

He swears that's all he knows.

I asked if I could repeat that rumor and said yes.

I really don't see any advantage to a water cooled bike. I had a Star 1300 & Kawasaki 900 that were both water cooled. The 1300 was every bit as warm to ride as the Vision and the Kawasaki would bake your right leg. Cooling is cooling whether it is by water or oil. I am sticking with the oil cooled engine because there is less to maintain.

I've heard from very reliable sources that must remain unnamed....... that the 2015 Vision will be equipped with Photon Torpedoes, a Cloaking device (could be used to annoy HD riders as you suddenly appear next to them, or avoid the stares and questions of bystanders), a Flux Capacitor, An "Automatic Park" feature that parks the bike for you, and rims that clean themselves!! Other than that, it's the same Vision!! LOL

Judging by the contest pictures, I think they are going to be focusing on competing with the V-Rod. So I'm guessing the Vision will not get an upgrade this year, or if there will even be a Vision this coming year. The Vision market has been dropping off bad the last couple of years from what I hear from a couple of dealers.

I think the market has dropped off also. My dealer who just picked up the Victory last year had 8 XC/XR and one of each of the others, including the Vision. I see where this is going, "I want bigger bags" instead of a better ride, thought. It's not likely they'll change the Vision much since it is what it is that makes it ride like it does. I'm no engineer, but I believe the Vision body design is the result of extensive windtunnel testing to get that just right flow. You change that, you change the ride. Arlen is selling his Vision mod that has Harley bags on it. As a motorcycle it looks cool, but at the same time it looks like a morph from the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". I believe they've got some clay of the Vision II that will have better weather protection than the X-bikes, but will but will not look like the Vision.

Personally, I felt the Vision would go the way of the Tucker or the Edsel eventually. Another personal feeling is that Victory is just exhausting stocks of parts, putting minimal effort in any new R&D. Though, if Victory to the stuff that Indian put on their "Heritage" bikes, like keyless ignition, jammin' stereo and any other cool widget, the Vision would get a second wind.

Vision won't be Indian.. Does not fit their style.. I purchased my Vision for the looks, ride, and yes LAM "look at me" factor! Yes they could lower the # of panels.. Make the saddle bags larger.. Pretty much thats it. Personally packing space is enough for me!

Definitely gives one ideas for morphing the X-bikes' bags onto the Vision.

I said in another thread that even if the vision goes away I think it's safe to say that a fixed fairing touring machine will always be in the line up. All of the big manufacturers have one, and Polaris won't be the exception.

Better Paint maybe? pneumatic shifted 7 speed, GDI on same engine or whatever it take to make 110 Hp stock and 50 mpg on regular fuel.

Kick Butt sound system.

What are my odds that I get 1 of these items?

Rumors are rumors. Like the ole saying 'round my plant goes: If you haven't heard a rumor by 1st break start one! So here goes... the GM at Spirit (where I bought my VV on the 4th o' July this year) said I was damn lucky to get the unit I got as he's seen no tooling up for VV's this year. Typically, he said the tooling begins 2 years in advance and there hasn't been any so... anybody's guess (rumor). Next (no lie) my youngest daughter's a Senior Engineer at Polaris and said something very exciting is coming in early August for the 2-wheel division. But, beyond saying "I'd really like it!" she didn't elaborate.

So more fuel for the rumor mill... ride safe guys

Jedi Jeff, here's a shot I found on Big Wheel Victory's Baggers facebook page showing Arlen's Vision from the rear. Don't know who took the picture, so I can't give them credit for it. Also, I read some where that Victory was going to introduce something exciting in early August. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they have up their sleeve.

Dude, Harley bags are WAY better than any Victory bag as far as function goes. I had a Vision, my wife has a Cross Country and i now ride a Road Glide and the Harley bags are way way sturdier then any Vic bag. Bye the way Arlens Vision is bad ass, i love it.

MGOBLUE, A Road Glide, really? HD stopped selling those things over a year ago. I traded one of them, a 2011, for my '13 Vision. HD bags may have a slight advantage on volume to a Vision bag but have you ever tried opening one? They are a real PITA to open or use because they do it all backwards. When you think you have everything packed right they will definitely bite you in the rear. Yes that is the voice of experience. I was a "shark" rider for about 2 years.

XRSteve, those bags are Arlens own design, granted they're based off of Harley's design, but, then again, Arlen is promoting his own product. And Oldman, they did redesign the way the lids come off the bags on the '14's, they actually work easier. I also traded an '09 Road Glide for my '13 Vision, can say that I liked my RG better than my '07 Electraglide, but neither one compares to the Vision, not even close. Here's a pic of Arlen's Vision from the front, kinda like the way it looks.

FWIW, HD dropped the Road Glide for a year while they are re-designing it.  It is supposed to be re-introduced in 2015.

Hopefully it will have more than just a new paint job =).

UPDATE: From this preview, it doesn't look like much is different.

The new ones will have the infotainment system and the Peoject Rushmore engines with the Ultra touring having the liquid cooled heads. Guys i'm not here to bash i just still enjoy this site and the insight. Yeah i liked my Vision but i love my RG. Now on the other hand my wifes Cross Country is pretty bad ass.

Two color options? Could this spell the end? Seems like when Polaris starts minimizing the color, they kill the model within a year or two. That would just plain suck!

Just looked at the 2015 Victorys & Indians, one word - DISAPPOINTING - A LOT OF HIPE WITH VERY PREDICTABLE CHANGES. NOTHING NEW OR GROUND BREAKING

Be careful what you read there. They are talking about new ABS brakes. Even my 2011 shark had those.

We Vision people are a loyal bunch, mostly because the product is outstanding. Yes the styling ( very Art Deco) isn't for everyone, neither was Vincent's Black Prince. Comfort and function are next to none and probably superior to all, I've owned a Harley RG put 53,000 miles on it and it's not even close in comfort to my Visions. I've test ridden our cousin Indian Chieftain 3 times and it's not nearly as comfortable and wind protection was lacking to say the least, Even a XCT doesn't have the comfort and wind protection of a Vision. It would be nice to redsign the bags for more top loading lids and even just 20% bigger would make a difference. That and some newer electronics, people like that these days......A bigger engine (112 or 114) for bragging rights would be nice for the whole Victory line up OR offer one as a premium upgrade.

Funny you mention the Chieftan. I've not ridden one, but like the styling a lot. I was not impressed with the Roadmaster though. I guess I was just expecting styling to match the train inspired fairing (I do like that). Of course, I'm also not a fan of keyless ignitions. I'd still like to try one out.

My wife just bought a Chieftain. I put the 1st 200 miles on it. She had the low heated seat installed which made it a bit short for my 5'-9" frame. Wind management is pretty good overall. We did add the flip windshield which I think makes a big difference. The keyless ignition is nice because you don't have to dig keys out of your pocket. If you forget the key fob or it gets lost, you can still start the bike with a code.

The bike has a great low end but I can still run away from her on the Vision by 3rd gear though.

Nice! I wondered how the wind management is. I commute on my bikes. 109 miles a day, so wind protection is a plus. What type of mileage are you seeing? The few I've talked to give the "I don't care about mileage" responses... but as my bikes work for a living, I do care. :D

Good that hear you can start it with a code. I'd like to see a redundant key start. The problem with all these electrical do-dads is that they are not reliable once you've had them for a while. That and I'll also skip on having a rf transponder constantly hunting for my fob. I've been locked out of my car before when the security computer decided to give up its ghost. Nothing wrong with the car... just the security portion. I know they build their cars for people that buy new ones every three years, but I can't afford that. I typically keep a vehicle till it's utterly dead, motorcycles included.

It is kind of convenient in some ways, but give me long term reliability any day. Is the classic keyless too?

This past match I was in AZ and test rode a lot of Indian models. I mainly focused on the road master had I have owned 2 vision for 8 years... im so glad I got a chance to demo the road master !! I did not like it at all .!! I felt cramped... and this was the main thing I noticed ... the suspension.... when I would apply the brakes the front end would drive many inches.. I told the Indian demo truck there was something wrong with this bike . So they let me demo another and another one ..and all 3 did the same thing ... it's suspension is very comfortable.. but reminded me of a cadillac, where as my visions suspension compared to the Indian felt more like a Camero. . The RM felt like it was not a bike I would want to go ripping through tight turns on ... I also noticed this ... the RM you sat ON IT , my vision you sit IN IT .. . And then lastly .. in the AZ sun, the orange (or what ever it's called ) display was very hard to see if the sun was behind you ..... I mean bad......

I still have an appeal for an Indian, more for what it represents as far as riding history. The Vision is truly a spoiler and the ultimate bike in comfort for me. While it still requires tenacity to ride any amount of miles on a motorcycle, the Vision makes it easier. Like I asked a Navy Seal Harley rider on his stock seat, "Doesn't that hurt." Being we were on an Iron Butt ride, he replied, "It's suppose to hurt." I've settle to the notion that if I was to go to an Indian, I know it would hurt, but from the roots, it took one tough cookie to ride a motorcycle. I've seen a few old carbed Sportsters for sale around lately and have entertained the thought of getting one for the fun of it. It may sound crazy, but that's the bike I picture in my mind as a biker's bike.

I rented a Road Master in Vegas and rode to the Grand Canyon. Did about 450 miles on it. While I liked a few things about it, not nearly enough to buy on. The list of dislikes was longer. The trip before that I rented a HD Ultra Classic. Talk about cramped. If I had to choose, I'd prob go Harley. That makes me cringe, but the touch screen navigation is bad ass and the audio is far superior to the Indian. Hopefully I will never have to make that choice. Worst case I get a CC Tour.
