Has anybody discovered an easier method of cleaning the rims other than "

1. cop a squat
2. Rub the area with a cleaner laden solution on a brush
2. Rinse
4. Move to the other rim
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4
6. Move the bike
7. Loop back to step number 1 and repeat?

I mounted a skid plate under my 2011 Vision, use the Sear's jack to lift it up so I can lay alongside each wheel; spin and clean with Bike Spirits or Honda Spray polish (basically the same stuff). Doesn't take long if you can spin the wheels.

Usually done in two beers, if I'm taking my time.

I haven't found any short cuts when it comes to maintaining polished aluminum wheels. Once the wheels are clean make sure to finish them off with a good polish which will ease the cleaning process the next time.

I invested in Flitz's super mini 2" buff ball. It works great and allows you to get into small places using your hand drill. Flitz's polish and pre cleaner simplify the job too.

I will be 70 years old as my VV turns 6 next month. There has been NO miracle taught to me as to how to clean the wheels of my BABY in those 5 years of love.

Now CoPilot ..... is just 44 years young... there might be some hope there !!!

I kinda doubt my luck ... she LOVES her SMART car - LOVES my VISION - but seems to think that I do all this FOR HER (... well, I do )

Anyone got some answers ????

Well, back many moons ago, I remember the guy that owned the company that made the "Pure Polaris" products would lay Visions right over on their sides and just spin the wheels as he cleaned.
I do miss my painted rims on my '03. Looked at having Anny's wheels painted but hate the down time. By putting naked women on the seat I keep guys eyes off the rims.... O.O

Other than laying it over on the tip overs, I've thought of getting one of these from china freight:

It's "quality time". Really. And it gives you a chance to examine things down under, that could be going south on you.

Nailer: Save your money. I had the same idea. Bought the thing, rolled my wife's XC on to it. The bike was too heavy for it I guess. The wheel wouldn't roll on it.

I usually just turn mine upside down to rest on the handlebars and back seat. The wheel spins just fine then, only problem is I keep smelling gas....
Yep, huge pain in the a$$.

I've only washed mine once since I got it - it was enough of a pain in the ass that I gave up. Now it's going to the gentleman three blocks away from work for him to earn a well-deserved $30.

Unless you are a fair weather rider, I can see how aggravating it would be to keep the wheels clean.

I clean my wheels when I change tyres. I find it easy to do with the wheel off the bike.
