I did about 180 miles on the interstate today.   I saw allot of heads turn and caught some stares.  I don't know if it was because of how I was riding or what I was riding, but I became taillights fading off into the mist to all of them.  Upper 30s, low 40s ìn rain and sleet.  What a bike!!!

Yup I was on the road today as well and got everything from thumbs up to "hey man that's a nice bike".
I get lots of people telling me they don't like it but they are usually the "Motor Company" guys and when we are all parked somewhere my bike is the one with people all around it.

First ride of the season today, rode into town and stopped at the Harbor Freight store. I'm not even done taking my helmet off and two guys walk by slow , looking. New bike the first guys asks, yep (got it last fall). He walks over and around it, looking closely. Great looking bike he says, I ask what he rides, Ultra Classic. Then we just talk about bikes and riding as we walk towards the store.

So the count is 3 rides, on 2 gas stops, I've had guys stop to talk about the Vision. So glad the weather is starting to turn for the better.

I also rode today. Locally it was near 50F so I passed about a dozen bikes in the first 20 miles. Everyone was friendly except one HD rider and returned a wave. I have no idea why it is always the "lifestyle" riders who are just too busy to return a friendly wave.

For the most part, around here everyone waves. Sometimes the BMW riders don't, until they see the BMW that rides with us ;-)

My point was, it was not a riding day. Temps were never above 44, and it was raining or sleeting the whole time. Then there was this guy out on his motorcycle in this mess. I never really thought what others where thinking until I saw a guy in the passenger seat in a rollback jerk his head around while I was in the hammer lane passing them. I was on the interstate mostly and on the return trip the mist from the road spray made it almost zero vis, but it never slowed me down when it should have. Despite the elements I enjoyed the long ride that I've been looking forward for quite a while. The next one, hopefully will not be under the same conditions. If I had owned any other bike besides a Vision, it's not likely I would have thought about riding at all Sunday.

My favorite story about riding when those on a lesser bike wouldn't happened at my old job. I showed up one January morning at around 7am, and the boss looks at me saying "I can't believe you rode today it's only 24 degrees"
I responded by saying "I rolled the window up and turned the heater on, no problem!"

I always answered that I couldn't ride home in the warm 40F unless I was willing to ride to work in the colder morning. After a while everyone got used to me riding to work in the 20s.

BTW, when I was doing that Ride I was on an HD. Not all HD riders insist on sunshiny warm days.

Very true, I used to bundle up on my sporty and ride when it was below freezing. It's just so nice knowing that I don't need to carry over pants or chaps with me just because it's cold in the AM.

Put 165 miles on last Sunday I led two Harley streets. We live in Minnesota and they were saying how cold they were.. maybe the snow cover as far as you could see had something to do with it... was kind of surreal as we rode down the road with 6 snowmobiles in the road ditch riding the groomed trail in pace. 45 felt just fine! BIG smiles on Moma and me ,, but now we are forecast for 24 inches today ARRGH!!!

Went with 2 of my Harley riding buddies to their HD dealer. One of them was buying a new street glide. While we were waiting in the parking lot one of the sales rep came out to check out my vision. He asked a few questions and left it at that. After returning from my buddy's ride. The vision drew some more attention

Thanks too funny.  At least I know I have an alibi!
