Posts: 482 Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort) | KBB lists a 2008 Vision Tour in excellent shape at 11.5-it would have to be an emaculate very low mileage bike to command that price-I've see a lot better deals out there-I'd keep lookin'

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | the problems i had with mine were
gear indicator didnt show correct gear
rear Floating rotor needed replaced (loose)
radio reception very crappy
that year has a silly oil change interval (2500 miles)
my 08 was a very good bike. but starting the very next year they started to improve... speakers, radio, abs, transmission , oil change interval, nicer looking wheels .

I bought my 2008 Vision tour premium new as a left over model in Feb. 2009. I added some chrome pieces and XM satellite radio. The only "performance" item I added was the Victory performance air filter, the rest of the bike is bone stock. It now has over 34,000 miles and I haven't done a thing but change oil and tires. No problems what-so-ever, and it is the most comfortable highway bike I have ever owned. Being a first year model I got the 5 year extended warranty and never used it. I guess I have been lucky, I got a good one! At 61 years old this will probably be my last big road bike. After riding for 40 years, I saved the best for last!

Posts: 77 Bainville, & Mesa, AZ, MT | Another satisfied 08 customer, a few minor problems like the gear indicator showing second when actually in first. The new ones have a few problems too. I have sent in oil samples for testing and they all have come back showing it is safe to run the bike out to 5000 miles just like the newer ones. I usually get around 17k on a set of tires, that one has 13k, is it getting close to needing tires? Price might be a little on the high side but you didn't say how it is equipped so maybe it is ok.
Good luck.. |

Posts: 251 Mechanicsville, VA United States | I bought my 08(private seller) with 12,400 miles on it, paid $12,500, it had the cams already in it, VFCIII and top filter and S1L2 pipes(had to replace them though) and it had new tires on it.....a great deal I think. I've got 27,000 miles on it and now have the PCV/AT-300 on it now....I love it, my wife loves it too.
No problems at all! |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I abuse my 2008 which I've had since november 2007. Never garaged kept, but do keep it covered, most of the time. It has 153,000 miles on it now (I'll sell it to you for $11,000) and has had minimal problems. No internal engine issues, but had the fuel pump and the regulator replaced, under warranty. I've put a used set of headers and two sets of mufflers. Also replaced the steering bearing. It needs the rear shock replaced not also. None of this has been unreasonable to me and I've gotten my monies worth. I would just be carefull if the bike has been sitting alot, I never think that is too good for any machinery. However, Polaris makes seasonal vehicles and I'm sure they take sitting in to account. You should should be good, but I agree, the price may be a little high considering you could get newer for close to the same price.

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | Mine's a 2008. It has been trouble free. In 48 years of riding, and having owned many different bikes, I can say this Vision is the best bike I've ever owned. At 63 years of age, it may also be the last bike I'll own. Nothing on the market, including the newer Visions, makes me want to trade.
You said the one you're looking at is the 2008 Tour Premium model. That one has an extra chrome package that added $1000 to the list price, and would have cost $2500 to add to a standard Vision Tour as dealer installed items. It also includes the $500 HID driving light as standard equipment. Much of that stuff isn't even available on the newer models.

Posts: 14 East Troy, WI United States | I was looking at older visions. After looking at most of the used bikes I came to the conclusion to buy new. After looking into 2008-2010 visions I found through talking that they have a little louder transmissions. Nothing bad just a little loud. Victory Visions are great bikes. Use your gut feeling and really look over the used bike you looking at. Even take it to a GOOD Victory dealer to look it over. Oh and do not settle on that dealers price. Shoot him a low offer. Its winter. They need sales. They need you. |

| if you look the only real thing Vic has done is improve the radio and the trans. With the new trans you can go 5000 miles on a oil change.
New or old if might all have a flaw. Ya never know. My 08 has only 28 thousand on it and all I have done is battery and oil change and a timing wheel. O ya wash it too

Posts: 466 Grand Cane, LA | Well you could have bought mine about 2 weeks ago for $9000.00 and it was a Tour Premium. Had it on CycleTrader for about 3 days before a gentleman from Baton Rouge came and got it. Had lots of extras. He is one happy camper now. I'm still looking. Didn't think it sell that fast! and nobody around has a 2014 in yet or in stock. So now I'm bike less, just when it happens to warm up around here. |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | this is NOT common.. but its something you might want to check.... then the vision ON.. put it in (N) make sure the little GREEN (n) light comes on...
on my 08 i had to replace the rear floating rotor as i said before but i forgot about this one.... if that green light is not working.. and your state has inspection laws for motorcycles as it requires that to work... (LIKE MINE DID IN PA) , then you would have to replace the entire dashboard.. there is NO bulbs to replace.. luckly mine was covered by the extended warranty! $900 !!! the extended warranty HAD TO COVER IT.. because the bike wouldnt pass inspection with it being burnt out.. |

Posts: 125 Kerrville Texas ( now a homeowner on six acres) | My 08 was one of the first five my dealer received in Sept of 07. We purchased it about a week after they recvd in from the factory. It is a 08 victory tour premium. Currently at 50,000 miles . added a few "little "cosmetic items along the way,(chrome and a stage one kit by the dealer). Am still on the original battery. I am not a gearhead so, have oil changes and service done at a dealer. Changed the sprocket and belt at just a little above the reccomended interval of 35,000 miles. I know my battery is almost done and needs replacing at any moment . Original cost $21,400. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!
Do not keep up with used prices but, to get a vision tour premium with 13,000 miles looks good to me. The test has olready been done on this year model by Varyder (thanks Rick). Love my Vision!!!!
