I went out to the garage and "sat" on my bike last night. Granted, I've only had the bat bike since November and only have 330 miles on her, but man do I have the itch to get out and ride... I'ts going to be -15 or something stupid again tonight here in Wisconsin.

I did the same thing over the weekend. It's going to be below zero down here in Indiana tonight, single digits tomorrow then pretty deep into the negative digits tomorrow night. After that it's going to get pretty warm (in the 20s during the day).

Man, I'm such a little whiner - Haven't been able to this week because of snow and I've been crying like a little girl!
I forget the real pain most of you are going through

Just went riding today out here in sunny Northern California. We're finally getting some rain tonight and for the next couple of days. Could use some of the snow the rest of the country is getting. Seems like winter just bypass us this season. We're in a drought!

What's stopping me from riding is all of the damned salt on the roads. Maryland SHA alone dropped 280,000 tons of salt already this winter, compared to 100,000 tons in Virginia and 24,000 in DC.

We have had some rains over the past days, hopefully that has put a dent in the salt accumulation here; and I can get out and ride. I turn into a curmudgeon when I can't ride.

Yea, winter sucks. I went riding last week and actually had to put on a jacket it was so cold. I mean, who rides in 50 degree weather? Then this last Sunday I had to put on two shirts until it warmed up to 77 degrees outside. What a bumeer! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry you choose to live in the cold Dude. Sam Kinison often joked about people who were starving in the desert because they couldn't grow any food....... His reply was ........ MOVE......IT'S A FREAKING DESERT! Come on down to Florida, the weather is great here and we ride all year round!!!

I hear you, but winter only lasts 4 months, and then the riding here is spectacular. Hills, bluffs, valleys (coulees), the big river (Mississippi), lots of twisties etc.

I'm just waiting for the kids to get done with school and start college and careers etc. Then, we are down sizing here and finding something down there for the winter months  I work from home 1/2 of the time now, so I could easily work from there!

Blues is not the word for it. Depression, deep, dark, excessive misery. I've rode maybe 6 times in the past 30 days. Two weeks in January I was taking a class 3.3 miles from my house. I refuse to start up, ride 3.3 miles in the morning, and the same thing in the evening, that would kill the bike, I feel. Then after class is done, the nasty weather comes, and the excessive salting and putting down chemicals. The morning I would have chanced it, but glad I didn't, I witnessed a car spinning out of control and getting rammed by a semi. Fortunetaly no one was majorly hurt. So I respected that for the following weeks. I was able to get out and ride a little on the weekend, and I rode on Tuesday. Now I'm sick and need to stay in. I drove to work, but I'm ready to go back home. Sheesh, I hope I survive this bout of cabin fever.

i missed one day due to ice and felt like I had been away from the bike for a month! If I had to stay off my bike for 4 months I would be very depressed.

I just spent some quality time last few weeks with my Vision doing maintenance duties. That's how I've been bonding with my bike during the winter since I can't ride her!

Well I was able to get out for a short ride this afternoon. Took forever to get the spaceship to catch fire while turning it over. But finally; after several anxious moments (about 20 minutes all together) she finally caught fire and got busy with the inhale, compress, expand, and blow out routine.

Tested out the new Lloydz timing wheel; bike does seem to have more "oomph" to it during acceleration; will be better able to tell how much better it runs when I stay out longer with it. Only put about 30 miles on it today; it's now back in the shed; just ahead of some snow that's coming in from the west.

Felt good to go on a motorcycle ride today. I am content. For now.

Willtill, I want to do the timing wheel also. Everyone says it's the one thing you can easily do to add some performance. My Vision is basically stock, but I do want that timing wheel for more low end umph! Don't want louder pipes, been there done that with previous bike and am enjoying the quiet. Don't need the cams cause I'm not a speed freak.

Well KMT... my Vision is no longer stock. I'm running a Dobeck EFI set with modest settings, a Lloydz upper air filter and S1L2 pipes. The addition of the Lloydz timing wheel certainly has not detracted from it's performance thus far; it has complimented it.. more I will sense once I can get back out on it.

I will say if you have a stock Vision... you're going to like the Lloydz timing wheel. Make sure you use blue Locktite on those timing wheel adjustment bolts and snug 'em down. So the indexing of the wheel doesn't wander on you (search for "timing wheel" on the forum; lot's of guidance).

Was lucky to get the Vision out last Saturday; and the Rocket 3 on Sunday. Then another cold snap moved in, with a little snow today.

Hang in there boys... winter's gonna be ending soon.

It was 81F on my dash display during a ride 2 days ago. Yesterday I parked my bike wet, it was raining at the time. This morning my ignition lock was frozen and there was a half inch of ice on the dog's watering bowl. Spring sure is flexible around here. I got the bike out into full sun and the lock thawed so it was still a riding day today. I rode to the post office to mail my federal tax forms along with a check.

had ordered parts at a dealer during their open house last month. Finally in so booked an appointment today. They are in a nearby city and I planned to leave the bike for 2 days so needed someone to follow and bring me back. So it snows last night. I shovel the driveway, clean snow and scrape ice off the car as friend will follow in my car. The news says they may have broke a new record low for this date. The looks I got from kids and parents at school bus stops. The snow blowing off the car roofs on the highway. The gawking at intersections in the city. Heck it really wasn't that bad. In fact when I was younger and possibly stupider I have been passed by snowmobiles and had to follow a snow plow on the highway. Damn iot was good to ride though.
