| Morning.
The lay down license plate brackets typically will cover up the stock license plate light. What are guys using to provide illumination to the plate while using a laydown bracket? Just looking for ideas and/or products.
Thanks. |

Posts: 366 Albuquerque, NM | The laydown plate and the illuminated license plate holder are working fine! I removed the OE license plate lens and V panel around the tail lights to get to the +12v connector. Unplugged the license plate connector and used spade terminals spliced into the new LED license plate holder to plug into the connector. Taped it off and ran the wiring in thru the lens. Thin gauge wire is fine. Led's don't draw much current.
Only drawback is that it's a pain in the ass to remove the license plate/laydown plate every time you remove or install the trunk because you have to lift the V panel to remove the trunk filler panel.

Posts: 1365 Central Maryland | Screw the lighted plate requirement. I use the lay down bracket with no illumination... because no one really gives a crap about it in Maryland. And there are no motorcycle inspections. |

Thanks for the tip on routing the LED plate frame cable. Had mp panels off & was thinking
I would drill a small hole, which I really don't want to do. +1 on the filler panel, but hopefully I am not
putting on the trunk too often. I have the OEM backrest now, so passenger should be comfy with that.
I will be installing mine soon. |

Posts: 119 CASTRO VALLEY, CA United States | Currently I have the lay down license plate bracket from the Witchdoctor, and I also bought the LED license plate frame from the Witchdoctor as well. They're good quality products. Haven't mounted the LED license plate frame yet. Looks like a lot of work to take everything apart. So that will probably be a winter project after this riding season. |

| I used this one https://www.denniskirk.com/custom-dynamics/chrome-led-license-plate-...
"filed" a small slot in the clear lens. If I ever need a new lens there only $12 bucks |
