I'm looking at picking up a Vision and love the red/black color combination. Any recommendations here on 2009 vs 2013 models? Any major improvements? Anyone here know where I can get a nice 2009 10 yr anniversary model? Should I just go ahead and pull the trigger on a new 2013? Is the red the same color on the two?

Looking forward to spending time here learning about the Vision. I've owned dozens of bikes over the past 35+ years. I've owned a couple of Victory's but I'm really looking forward to racking up the miles on the Vision.

Thanks in advance for all the advice.

I own number 64. Four years newer is nice but check out the options. The 10th comes with every option that was available at the time of sale. Reverse is great when you need it. Anny is Antares Red. This is the color of the very first Victory and is a retired color. The 15th XC is Antares but you don't get an electric windshield (my favorite option) or reverse at more money. Anny has 63,000 miles on her and plenty more miles to go I hope.
No idea if there are any 10th left out there?
Hope this helps.

There is one for sale on ebay right now, I think it's in Texas, but don't quote me on the location.

There are some major differences. The 2009 has some nice features such as the HID headlight (small circular under headlight), and dampening shocks when you open the side bags, that I don't think come on the newer models.
But the 2013 (I think from 2011) has some major improvements. For one thing, they changed the transmission, which allows 5000 miles between oil changes, vs 2500 miles for the 2009 model. Another pretty significant improvement is the addition of ABS. The radio may be better as well.

Although I Love my 2009, I would suggest the 2013. Then add the HID. And whichever one you decide on I suggest getting the 'Lowers'. They are fugly, but really help with the wind/weather management.

the rides are all the same. If you get a low mileage bike, '09 would be just fine. I guess it will matter on the doodads you want and how much you want to pay for it.

I have a 2008. I recommend a 2013. I heard replacement parts for the anniversary model a twice the normal price. The radio reception and speakers and much better on the newer models.

There is an Anniversary one with only 1,000 miles on it out of El Paso, TX on eBay. Nice looking bike, however I like the look if the 2013 Red better. Either ride you will be happy. If you could get the 09 cheaper than a new 2013, I would go with the 2009. With such low miles you would really be getting a new bike either way. Good luck!!!

I checked out that 2009 anniversary edition. Barnette HD in El Paso has it for sale. They've listed it on ebay at least three different times and didn't get the buy price. They want $25k for it. IMHO, that's too much. I bid up to $16k on two different times and fell short. I called the dealership and talked to the sales manager and he said they had more than $21k in it. I think they're buried in the bike. He said Barnette's son bought it himself out of Georgia. That's all I know.

If you want a "fancy" bike, buy the Anniversary model. If you just want a great bike to ride, buy the '13. For $25k, I can buy a brand new Vision with money left over for GPS and reverse. If you pick your parking spots carefully, you probably won't need reverse (unless you're REALLY short).

I resemble that remark. Wish I had reverse.

I've ridden every new model Vision that has come along since 2008. They have NOTHING except reverse that makes me want to trade my 2008 for a newer one.
