Vacaville, CA United States | Has anyone had experience with the low profile bike dolly sold by Harbor Freight? I'm concerned with the 75.5 inch platform length pin-to-pin. It sure would be nice to be able to roll my bike around in the garage for fit/storage. My measurements put it right at the ragged edge...hate to purchase it before I know. |

Central Maryland | You know.. I have looked at those bike dolly's that Harbor Freight sells; and maybe they would work for what you want. But getting it on the dolly is/can be a pain in the ass; just to wheel it around a little, in your storage area.
I have 2 bikes in one of my sheds; a Rocket 3 and my Vision. Both will not easily move in and out; without moving one to the side of the shed. So I just exercise a little "forward and backward" on the one that I'm not taking out; until I have enough room to back out (or pull in) the one I ride that day:

Sounds like so many bikers hauling their bikes to Sturgis and seeing them sitting on the side of the road. Always said I could make lots of many from a flatbed with a lift.
Spend the money, do it right. Part of ownership. I know Anny didn't like being on my lift and I only bought it for oil changes. 900 lbs on 35 lbs.... |

West Salem, WI United States | I have been thinking about building a low table / dolly. Only about 6 inches off the floor with a drop out center for doing oil changes. I see the rigid castors have weight capacity of 350lbs (5 or 6"), is that with weight directly on top of it? Will that capacity increase with 4 castors and the weight spread over a larger area? I can't beleive the HF dolly has high weight capacity castors, they look very small. |

| Wouldn't a standard ATV lift work for you? That's what I use to get the bike in the air and occasionally, rotate it 180 in the garage for an easy exit.
It's also come in handy for just moving the bike off to the side when I needed more garage space.

West Salem, WI United States | I have the HF bike lift and I've used it on my Kingpin, but it didn't seem super stable. The Vision is heavier, I think I would want the skid plate before lifting the Vision but it would probably be fine. |

Right, but the ATV lift accomplishes the same thing, but is more versatile. Yes, I have a skid plate on the bottom of my Vision, which makes it a snap to lift and very stable in the air.
