| buy the tires, Take wheels off your bike. Go to a shop have new ones put on and balanced. Even a after market shop can do it. This can all be done in a day.
You doing it your self at home will take more then a day. |

Posts: 19 Town creek, AL United States | That is my plan just didnt know how much trouble it is to get back tire off.havent had this bike long and havent fooled around with it much.was told at dealer that i would have to drop the shock loose to get tire down far enough to get it out.just checking to see if anyone else that has fooled with them could tell me if this sounds right or if there is a better way.

Like anything the more you do it the easier it gets & I like knowing it was done right. Get the service manual-you can download a 2011 Vision manual and have all the maintenance procedures spelled out for you.

| I was asking this same question a couple months ago and i did remove and reinstall the tires and I will say that rear tire was a pain in the ass. It would be a lot easier if you have a platform jack. Probably easier next time now that I know the tough spots. |

Jack the bike up to the second catch and you should be able to slide the tire out on the left side, let it drag out on the pulley, not the rotor. Putting it back in takes some finese. Do not move your adjusters. Once you've got your tire changed, line up the spacers, keeping them on the proper side, run a long screw driver through after you've got the brake caliper mount on. I can have my axle in on the first attempt, which just a little bit of wiggling. After your axle is in and tightened, makeing sure the wheel is pushed forward against the adjusters, you can lower the bike to line up the swing arm bolt and you're done. Be sure to check your bearings and spacer. I allow put some grease on my axle before sliding it in, I believe it adds to the moisture barrier to keep my bearings going 150,000 miles on the originals.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | I can have my back wheel off in 15mins. NOT because im that good.. because im not... but because its not that hard. Simple tools and a Sears mc jack .. what I use to change my Own tires is a , harbor freight bead breaker and some tire irons. Took me 30 mins to do the rear tire. And then I use dyna beads to balance it |
