| Anyone have any experience with the Braille battery brand? It is about time to change batteries before I get stranded. This battery is supposed to be a direct replacement to the Vision battery with better specs. - Sealed AGM
- 21 Amp Hour (AH) versus 18
- 1067 (PCA)
- 426 (CCA) versus 310

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | Yeah - pricey. I have owned 21 bikes in 54 years and seldom got more than 2-3 years out of a battery. My VV is now 5 1/2 years old - and showing NO signs of battery problem. I keep a tender attached most of the time (when I remember to do it) - but it has NEVER let me down. Likely this spring I will put a new battery in my baby - but just a stock one that it came with. Don't f**k with what works ...

| ... Don't f**k with what works ... My stock one didn't last very long at all (from 11/2007). I have been running an Odyssey 545 with a Optimate battery tender ever since. The Odyssey 545 is starting to show some signs of age, thus the search for a replacement before I get stranded.

Posts: 112 Denver, Iowa | I took my Vision to The Vic Shop a while back. I know my battery is the original from 2009, but the bike still starts ok... or at least I thought. Rylan started up my bike to put it on the dyno, and he immediately said I need a new battery. A battery that shows signs of being aged or tired needs to be replaced, since the fuel injection needs the most available power to it, to function accurately and efficiently. A slightly discharged battery will show up negatively on the dyno. He would be able to explain this in better detail than I, of course.
I just got the new issue of RoadRunner magazine today, and the Braille Battery is explained in an article there (along with other Lithuims). |

Not wanting to spend so much, I found this at my local megabike dealer.

Posts: 1365 Central Maryland | related as it is a AGM; I had a Scorpion AGM battery in my Rocket; they do not work well at lower temperatures. Now it is an expensive paperweight in the shed. |

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | The heat out here in SoCal kills them too. Gel batteries handle the heat and cold better, but have a nasty power Drop-off, low CCA and higher price. Lithium batteries are ok in the cold if you know how to use them, they are just ridiculously priced and have miserable amp-hours (amp-hour equivilant is not the same).
I like playing my radio while I wash my bike, so amp-hours are important to me. |
