I got my timing wheel from Lloyds and it came with nothing other than the gasket, no literature or install guide.  anyone have the aforementioned items?

Open the plastic package that contains the wheel. That tiny bit of paper inside is the instruction sheet.

Do you need some help? There are other posts that go through the install. Do a search. If you cant find it let me know and I will run you through it.

you need to unbolt floor boards two bolts 5/16 size.

put rag over pipes so you don't scratch chrome

Take out oil dip stick and plug with rag 5mm tee handle take out all 6 allens very gently pull cover off and carefully of pick up on cover

If gaskets falls a part clean off with razor blade 17mm socket un do center bolt and wiggle gear off with hands.

If need to use pry bar do a little on each side place new wheel in place and torque bolt to 17 foot pounds. use screw drive between teeth and catch motor bolt.

Drop of blue loctite is good put on new gasket if needed wipe oil off timing cover gasket area slid on and tighten bolts in x pateren. Hand tight is good put floor board back on clean up and ride

Thanks for the offer, Isearched the forum found a coupla pic, and managed to get'er done.  will let yall know tmorrow what it does for the bike.   Hardest part of install was getting the floorboard back on while fighting swarms of skeeters.

I have had mine for about 2 weeks and am considering pulling the cover and advancing the timing some more. Since I have the reusable gasket I will only need to pull the floorboard and cover then loosen the adjustment screws and make my changes. After that it is a simple reassemble and be done. I started with an uber conservative 3 degrees and am thinking I need to go to 5 or 6 degrees and see how things work. Worst case, I get a ping and need to revert to 3 or 4 degrees.

What kind of improvement are you guys seeing with the timing wheel? Low end power? Top end? More Grunt? MPG?

Thanks, Roger

you'll find out you spent your money the right way. You go to 65mph in no time very smooth and it works past that to. You will pick up a little mileage cause the motor is not working as hard. Great help for two up riding to. Less to none popping. Make sure you buy the gasket cause you never know if the old one will stay in place.

You will not be disappointed

Only read one complaint were he was getting to good of gas mileage and that was cause of the air filter.

I got low end grunt to be sure and I have some minor gas mileage improvement too. If you can stay off the throttle you will find better all around performance but that can be hard to do. The engine just wants to run well for you.

If you get the wheel, don't forget to buy a gasket. When I did mine the gasket came off in several pieces, including the pieces that I had to scrape off the cover and the pieces that I had to scrape off the casting.
