Posts: 106 Clinton, CT | Had the chance (finally) to get Vicki in to see Kyle at KMC Powersports now that he is back home in RI. My bike was bone-stock except for the 1/4 turn throttle ring.
Upgraded with Lloydz touring cams, PC-V, PTS (timing wheel), adjustable intake, IAC, Vision air filter and D&D exhaust, followed by custom dyno tune.
Won't really have the chance to put miles on until this weekend but the 60ish mile ride home was enough to thoroughly impress!

Posts: 106 Clinton, CT | 55% increase in HP and 20% increase in TQ over stock, I was pretty freakin surprised! It still won't keep pace with my Concours but it seriously hauls the mail, especially for a twin cruiser!
This is a totally different bike that definitely does not sound like a sewing machine any more! The D&D pipes are actually a tad louder than I expected but mellow enough to make for a great touring rig. I would not go for anything louder and I know SWMBO would get annoyed with any more. The cams make for a nice "lope" over stock- just enough to notice.
For me I gotta say, this bike went from pretty cool to damned impressive in one afternoon...

Went with the newer VM1-HPT touring cams. I can now see why it is quite a bit more involved than the VM-1 due to the modifications needed to the carriers.
They are NOT a simple drop-in affair and talking to Kyle and Lloyd, the supporting cast of characters (intake and timing mods, IAV, PC-V and careful pipe selection) are really critical to get a smooth, properly running bike. No sales pitch by either of them, just a clear explanation of what does what and why. Don't misunderstand, I am not a mech by any stretch but I understand what they were saying and how the various pieces work together. Huge change of pace compared to what I was used to from most Harley shops/vendors...
Definitely worthwhile- Just wish the weather was better this darn weekend!!

Final pulls (HP/TQ) 121/115 at the wheel.
Fairly legit numbers I've seen posted for a bone-stock 106 are around 78/97, again at the wheel vice the crank.
Talking to Kyle, he may have been able to squeeze little more here and there but the bike runs very smooth and the weather was a little dodgy (pretty warm and VERY humid). He had to tweak on the MAP quite a bit (surprisingly) but as he admitted no two bikes are the same, even with identical mods. He said he's seen better and worse, but the differences were nil...
I was expecting improvements but the actual results FAR exceeded expectations!
