Posts: 3 Georgia | I am going to pick up my 1022 Vision, got to haul it about 100 miles back home, and wondering, how do I tie it down on the trailer? Would guess it ties just like the goldwing 1800 does. Am I right? Thanks, Wallace in Ga |

Posts: 1365 Central Maryland | If your buying from a dealer; see if he'll give you the tie down eyes that screw into the front tip overs. That's how they are tied down in the crate when they are shipped.
Also, don't tie down with the kickstand down; known issue with kickstands weakening when doing this.

Posts: 143 Lexington Park, MD | Honestly have not looked but supposedly a tie down loop is up near the neck area on either side of the frame and from there use either side of the mono arm or the tip overs. I was going to tell you to go to MaVic web and download the current user manual in PDF but the link is broken. Good reading while your waiting.. hehe |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | There's a tie down point cast in the frame under/behind the headlight. Tie down to each side there. (Do NOT use the handlebars!) One tie down to each rear tip over works. If you have enough mounts in/on the trailer, it wouldn't hurt to throw a strap over the seat (put a piece of carpet on the seat first, fuzzy side down). A front wheel chock is a good idea (you can bolt one to a sheet of plywood if it's not your trailer) but not absolultely necessary. |

| Wheel chock and a soft loop looped around the lower triple tree on each side. Also a loop on each rear tip over guard. I too am going to hit the dealer up next time in to see if they will part with the shipping eyes or try to find correct eyelet in hardware stores. |

Posts: 118 Spfld, IL but temp Bay area, CA | I personally do not think the tie down eyes on the front tipovers work well on a trailer.
Used them once and had to adjust, tighten straps every stop.
Like G'town Drifter, I use a soft loop around the forks that will tighten against bracket where the forks and front fender meet, pull these down until the forks are compressed and you are good to go. Although I use one strap around the back wheel to keep it from moving around, I do not think that is necessary. |

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Do not use the bolt that screw into the tip overs for transportation tie down locations. They were never designed for that. They were for securing a semi-assembled bike in a crate with multiple other securing locations. Victory provided an official tie down loop located on the frame, between the air filter and the headlight. Why not use it? |

| There is a slot right under the headlight its part of the frame.
Tie off the rear using the tip overs. They don't have to be over tight cause it just keeps the bike from hopping side ways is all. |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | I think that rebelce has the best solution. For a mere 100 miles, ride the thing home and forget about tie down points. I just rode mine 750 miles each way on a vacation trip and would no way consider a trailer for a mere 100 miles. Heck, for that short distance, even the dealer should be willing to pick you up and deliver you to the place so that you can make the purchase. 100 miles on a Vision is trivial.

Posts: 12 Central Jersey! | I hope you decided to ride it home but if you didn't......... there is a tie down eye underneath the triple tree. Using the tie down eyes from when the bike was shipped aren't your best choice. I have had to trailer my Vic last year to Sturgis, wife cannot ride that long. I used front eye underneath triple tree and passenger hand holds with trailer shoe for the front wheel. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | If you haven't picked it up yet, have the dealer remove and inspect the front fender. They're known to crack and stick in the maw, making the bike unsteerable. If the fender is cracked (even a little bit), have the dealer replace it (at their cost) before you ride off. |
