Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | I've been keeping up with this story too. You know being an ex Harley guy ( I've owned 8 ). There's alot to digest in that story. Any changes at Harley is always met with some skepticisim and bitching. Hell there are Evo guys that hate TC's to this day. The stereo upgrades and lights are nice. The increase in prices, well not so nice. The watercooled heads on some models, well that's the thing that will be met with the greatest resistance. But like all things Harley's not going backwards and I feel all the bigtwins will have watercooled heads in two years. Harley has to do things slowly to not alienate it's base customers. The last three times they presented some thing considered radical they were abject failures. 1977 XLCR cafe racer couldn't sell them, 1983 XR-1000 couldn't sell them, 1984 the behind the scenes V-4 and V-6 Nova engines cancelled. But like almost all changed products people get used to the new and most forget the old. I believe this first water cooling solution is just a bridge to the next generation fully watercooled big twin. Time will tell............

I know, 2014 is Indians year, anything done now would be lost in the hype. |

Polaris hopefully will feeding their marketing machine. Great products need great marketing. I've worked for companies that developed the best products out there but fell short due to lack of marketing communications. |

Posts: 466 Grand Cane, LA | I don't think that is water cooled heads they are talking about. I think they just re-directed some of the oil cooling around in the heads to go past the ports to cool them. I know my brother is disappointed that they are not bringing the Road Glide back especially since they sold so many of them in the last couple of years. I think they shot themselves in the foot this year. |

Posts: 466 Grand Cane, LA | Oops, I take that back. They water cooled around the intake ports. C'mon, really?!! They couldn't make a radical change to "really" water cool these bike? Oh well, I guess people like BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha have nothing to worry about. LOL!!! |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | Funny thing is some of those YoYo's couldn't even figure out that the picture was a Suzuki GT-750 from 1972. The real "WATER BUFFALO". They were screaming mad about it, typing "that's a sellout yuppie machine", "I'll never buy another Harley" and so on. Bahahahahaha, I finally let em know it was a joke. |
